Excellent, unforgettable music
Karla Bonoff's music is excellent, truly excellent. I saw her in concert in a small theater in 1978, and have enjoyed the way she inhabits her songs so perfectly ever since. My sole objection with this particular CD product is not the music, but the inane liner notes. The liner notes author has a lengthy bio ostensibly about Ms Bonoff, but in fact, far more words are devoted to Linda Ronstadt and completely irrelevant yammer than to Karla Bonoff. I have nothing against Linda Ronstadt's music, but this collection of Ms Bonoff's work really deserves a high quality text to accompany the excellent song tracks.

Unbelievable! I didn’t know she was the musician and lyricist for so many singers who covered her creations. She is a class act and it’s hard to select a favorite on this compilation. One song is better than the next!Anyone on the fence regarding the purchase of this treasure chest of musical enjoyment…BUY NOW!

Bonoff's first three albums collected
I mean, what's not to like? I remember buying these LPs back in the day....so getting them on CD in one package is great. First, understand: Bonoff's voice is just beautiful and these first three albums highlight her songwriting abilities ... plus voice. I wish there had been some extras (demos?) added but I quibble. Three albums in one package is a great buy.

Buy This CD & Rekindle The Romance
A great compilation of Karla's first three albums. We recently saw her in concert up in Sellersville, PA and her beautiful voice and passionate songs still bring the audience to their feet cheering for more !! Buy this cd, share it with a loved one, rekindle the romance, and then go see her in concert . . . " I'll tell you about the magic that can free your soul, but it's like tryin' to tell a stranger about rock and r-o-l-l " Enjoy :)

I can't hold on...).

Brilliant product.....I hope
Previously owned on (much mourned) vinyl I consider this to be an irresistible opportunity to reacquire this delightful set of Karla's first three albums at a bargain price. Much of the music contained herein reaches the peak of West Coast singer-songwriting and although most of the highlights are available via the 'All My Life' compilation these records should be heard in their entirety. The eponymous 1st album contains versions of three songs which Linda Ronstadt featured on 'Hasten Down The Wind' ('Someone To Lay Down Beside Me', 'Lose Again' and 'If He's Ever Near') and why other interpreters have not also picked up on the quality of these songs is quite unfathomable to me. The 2nd release, 'Restless Nights' is more varied with covers ('When You Walk Into the Room' and (for me) the definitive version of one of the best songs ever written, the old folk tune 'The Water Is Wide',) as well as more great self-penned tunes. Finally we have 'Wild Heart Of The Young' which is a bit smoother and over-produced, but still gorgeous!.......but, why am I not rushing to the Amazon checkout to complete my purchase?! Well, the tracklisting appears to omit two of the tracks from 'Restless Nights', namely 'Baby Don't Go' and 'Only A Fool' and with the latter being one of my favourite tracks I am reluctant to take a chance. In any case the product description is unacceptably misleading. I shall retain my 5 star rating in hope that this is an error by Amazon and not shabby treatment of the fan by the record company.13/12/2013Great news! BGO have confirmed that ALL 28 tracks are present and correct across the 2 discs (Restless Nights is unavoidably split, but c'est la vie). My copy is on its way.
