Slice 10562 Folding Utility Ceramic Knife, Finger Friendly Ceramic Blade, Finger Loop Grip, Lasts 11x as Long as Metal

Slice makes great, well engineered products. The fit, finish, and action of this knife is of great quality. The action is a little stiff, but that doesn't bother me, it is another level of built in intrinsic safety. Close to $40 for a folding utility knife is expensive in my mind, but the ceramic blade glides through packaging materials with ease. The replacement blades are expensive too, but are supposed to last longer than steel blades. I bought this as an edc option, but found it a little heavy, and the way the clip is designed, it sits a little too far out of pocket for me. I will still use this around the house plenty though.

Gets the job done quickly, no messing around with those metal buttons on the old style box cutters!

What I don't care for is that it is a little heavy on the front side! Other than that a very nice knife cutting is excellent on plastic and cardboard!

I purchased this item and the EDC version of it. I had a really hard time deciding which version I like liked best. Both had their pros and cons. I ended up returning this one. This one is a bit too bulky and awkward. First off, you can’t open it with one hand which a big deal breaker. You need to press down a button to release the lock so it opens. I didn’t like that. Also another big gripe I had with this one was the pocket clip which was not properly engineered. I wish it was a deep carry clip so most of it stays stashed away inside my pocket. The way it’s built, the big orange ring portion of the blade stay exposed outside of your pocket/blade. I do appreciate that it has a pocket clip since it’s one thing I felt was missing on the EDC version. But the way it was positioned on the knife is really awkward.With that said, this product feels really durable and well made. For my intended use it was just a tad bit too clunky and awkward. Not many people naturally feed their index finger through a loop in a knife so that felt off. And having to use two hands to open is inconvenient. I will definitely recommend this version to anyone who has to cut through dry wall or thick cardboard as it seems like it would do a great job at that. But for me it was too heavy and clunky to justify keeping. I love Slices products and love that they’re made to be used safely and effectively. They are fun to fidget with and always cut everything with ease!

So...aside from iSlices, I'd never had a ceramic blade before, so I thought I'd test it out....I cut my finger open. Nonetheless, it's a good blade...nice and sharp. But I wouldn't say the blade is easy to open. I usually wear gloves while operating this (...aside from the first time), and trying to push that little reset button was a little difficult. Plus putting it away had me nervous, since the blade WAS ceramic, and fiddling about with folding was kind of..."handsy". I was imagining that you press the button, and can kind of flip it out with one hand and back again, but not this one. Also, it's quite heavy to only be holding a "finger-safe" ceramic blade. I almost lost it one day, attaching it to a retractable coil wire, only to look down and find the wire retracted, and the box cutter nowhere in sight.So, fair warning:It's a ceramic blade, but it's sharp.It's heavyIt can require two hands, unless you're dextrous.

It slides like butter when I use it!!! It is amazing for my job!!! Would definitely recommend buying it!!!

I was looking for something new to use at work and found Slice ceramic knives and cutting tools. this particular tool is very sturdy feeling, and has adjustable cutting angles and optional blade types available. It comes with rounded style blade, but i also ordered the pointed tip blades, and it is able to cut through literally everything I have used it on while at work. I was pleasantly surprised at how much curiosity it received from everyone I work with, including maintenance techs, engineers, management, all of whom are as impressed as I am. The blades themselves are obviously ceramic and so far are sharp, taken a beating and hold up exactly the way id hoped. the only that id changed if I had designed the actual handle portion of the tools is to add or utilize a non slip texture to the grip (or add that as an optional model) in case of using around shop oils or other slippery substances. otherwise this is an awesome tool id absolutely recommend to anyone who needs a rugged, sturdy, and sharp cutting tool for work, home, or whatever.

I originally bought the Slice 10495 Every Day Carry (EDC) Folding Knife but for someone with big hands, the smaller knife is not very comfortable to use. This knife fits very comfortably in my hand and is much easier to open and close. As a blind individual, I appreciate the extra safety of the ceramic blades over steel blades. The extra weight of this knife helps with cutting heavy cardboard. Overall, this knife feels very sturdy and I don't have any concerns about it failing at a time when it is most needed. Swapping blades is quick and simple with the push button on the side of the blade housing; much simpler to change than the Slice pen cutters.

Really solid and well made. Blade is epic because it cuts through packaging easily but it wont cut flesh. I tested this on my palm and nothing. Time will tell if the self sharpening is true. But so far really happy

Excellent quality knife... Very very high quality machining and build.Ceramic blade is uniquely useful well beyond just a box cutter.Keeps clean, no rust build up on blade.

This is a capable tool that is held in a very chunky body..

Not sharp at all !! The body really well made it would be worth it if they made metal blades too.

Expensive but if ur not looking at ur money its very nice and sharp
