Super-Flex Silicone Swimming Cap

Swimming caps normally split when putting on over my daughters very thick long hair, but so far so good with this cap. It is stretchy and easy to put on and goes a great job keeping her hair dry too.

Oh dear, this was such a disappointment. I was so pleased to read good reviews for a swimming hat, but when I put it on, not only did it look hideous, but it kept sliding up. I coudln't get it to fit right at all.

Use it for open water swimming. Easy to fit on.

This Vorgee swim hat claims to have extra stretch and is targeted at those who have long or thick hair. Its strap line specifically states, ‘Immerse yourself without getting your hair wet!’ It is contoured and made of silicone.Unfortunately, I am unable to agree fully with the claims made by Vorgee. Firstly, the Vorgee hat does have extra stretch but then so do the other silicone hats on the market. My hair did not stay dry by wearing this hat (nor indeed does it stay dry wearing any other swim hat) and I do not have long hair. However, the stretch would not be enough to cover the heads of those with very long and/or thick hair as the hat tends to slip off or hair escapes from under the hat - I know as I have tried these hats out before.In terms of sizing, Vorgee like the other swim product manufacturers take the one size fits all approach. As a former competitive swimmer and swim coach, I have taken this Vorgee product and tested it against similar silicone swim hats made by Maru and Speedo. The Speedo hat was slightly smaller and the Maru was slightly larger. Therefore the Vorgee hat is in much the same realm as the other silicone swim hats on the market.Lastly, Vorgee have promoted their hats as unisex. Indeed, they will fit both male and female but I am not too sure many men would want to wear the pink swim hat delivered to my doorstep.Overall, I am a little disappointed that the Vorgee swim product is not any different to the other silicone swim hats on the market.

I received the bright pink version of this swim cap and enjoyed wearing the bright colour in the pool this morning. I found the cap a bit tight to get on at first but this may be because it’s new and because I’ve got long hair, which I had tied up. I did expect the cap to have more give than it did, given the product description, and I’m not sure if you have really long hair that this cap would do. The size of the cap is similar to my current speedo one (see photo). When swimming I found that the cap rode up above my ears and I prefer if possible for the cap to cover them, but it did stay on apart from that aspect and my goggles gripped the silicone well. I was pleasantly surprised after swimming that it had kept my hair relatively dry, which my current one doesn’t, so that was a bonus. This cap is pretty much like other caps on the market, but with vibrant colour choices (great if you’re children are wearing them if you’re short sighted and want to find your children when you’re in the pool!) and I’m sure will serve you well.

Swimming is a nightmare if you have coloured or bleached hair. You love the exercise, but you end up with dried out straw-like hair. A good swimming cap can make all the difference and this one is great if you have long hair and need a slightly fuller cap. It fits really well and if I don't put my head under the water most of my hair stays dry.I usually put a little conditioner on my hair before I swim and then wash with shampoo with Vitamin C powder added afterwards and that keeps my hair in much better condition. Vitamin C neutralizes chlorine and prevents it causing damage.If someone could invent a cap that stopped any water getting to your hair that would be even better - until then this cap does the job!

This swim cap comes in a bright and attractive colour. Feels well made from silicone with some good stretch to it yet, it feels comfortable when worn. This definitely does have a bit more stretch than your regular swim cap however, if you’ve got thick and voluminous hair like mine, you sure won’t be getting it all tucked in and I definitely won’t recommend immersing yourself completely in water as you are sure to get your hair wet. I am yet to come across a swim cap that does what it says on the tin - keep hair dry during swimming. I was hoping that Vorgee’s claim would prove true. Sadly, this is not the case. The hunt for THE SWIM CAP continues. Overall, a decent swim cap but fails to deliver.
