Good value for the price
Given the staggering amount the rival GPS adapters cost (esp Nikon's) I'd say this was good value for money.Got it to work on my D7200 without issues. It comes with both types of Nikon lead so should be fairly compatible with most cameras. The camera connects to it fine and shows the location data in the menu. The unit is very small and sits nicely in the flash shoe (can be clipped elsewhere also).Found it very slow to get a lock - about a minute whereas my phone manages it in seconds from cold. This means that you've either got to leave it on or be prepared to wait. Fortunately it can power itself when the camera is off. Not sure yet how long it can run for or how much draw it makes on the camera's battery.Seems reasonably accurate once it's got a proper lock. Certainly close enough to give you an idea where the pictures were taken. It also allows the camera to keep its clock properly synced (although the D7200 has a pretty reliable clock anyway). The thing that let's it down in my opinion is the lead that connects to the camera. The lead is very rigid and I find it can get in the way a bit. The plugs are also overly large and obscure the mode dial on the D7200. The plug on the camera end also sticks out. Shame as this detracts from an otherwise good product and could so easily have been avoided. Having said that I suspect it's not alone in this flaw.In summary, good unit that is value for money. Let down only by connecting lead and slow GPS lock.-----UPDATE 20/06/2020:After a few outings I was really starting to like this little device. Unfortunately yesterday it started having issues connecting to the camera, it appeared to be on and have a GPS fix but the camera didn't show it. I initially put this down to a glitch as when I reconnected the lead it started functioning properly again. Today, however, it failed again and when I disconnected the lead from the camera the plug all but fell apart, which probably explains the issues. A real shame as it's a very good device for the money, but as I mentioned in my review let down by a poor lead. That being said the alternative lead with the Nikon round connector is of far better quality (unfortunately my D7200 has the rubbish rectangular socket). Not going to drop it any stars as I still believe it's a good product.

Do not buy this item
Took delivery 3rd January. Took it on holiday for 6.5 weeks. After 3 weeks it stopped working. Amazon returns gave me 30 days to return it, but I was away for 56 days. I've contacted the importer who says I must contact Amazon. How do I do that? The web address for Micnova does not exist. I purchased the item using my wife's Amazon account as she has Prime and I couldn't get it earlier using my own account. So, my advice is don't buy this item as there is no way to send back a faulty item.

Compact, reliable GPS tagging for Nikon DSLR
I’ve had two of these units. They work well, quickly establishing a GPS fix and adding it to EXIF metadata on your Nikon DSLR. Comes with cables for the round multi-pin socket used on D810 & rectangular socket on D90, D7100 etc, and adds a useful cable shutter release. Much cheaper than Nikon’s (discontinued) own-brand unit. On the negative side it’s plasticky, and not sealed against heavy rainfall. Powered through the cable attached to the camera so doesn’t need batteries. If you need to geotag your photos and can’t find a Nikon own-brand GPS receiver / data tagger this does the job well.

Good GPS tracker let down by poor quality cable
Bought to replace a Nikon GP-1A adaptor. This adaptor performed much better than the Nikon one and picked up GPS signals much more quickly and reliably. Unfortunately the cable fell apart at the connection point to the camera after only about 1 week's use. Although replacement cables are available, they are from the same supplier and I have now seen reviews from other users whose cables have broken in the same place. So I decided to return the item and all its cables for a refund rather than replace the cable with another one that might also break. Thankfully the breakage doesn't appear to have damaged the socket in the camera.

Cheap but not always reliable
I have been using this device for about two months. I find that I get good battery life out of it; usually I can get a day's shooting from my camera battery with the unit on most of the time. (Having an on/off switch on the GPS unit is a handy feature.)I have tested its accuracy against and a Garmin GPS unit and found it to be good enough for my purposes (agreement within about 10-20m most of the time). Unfortunately I have found it does not always record the location data onto the photo. I always give it time to settle down and register that it has a fix, which it does acceptably quickly and indicates its fix with a steady green light. Unfortunately I have had days when several photos didn't get their locations recorded and three days when no photos got their locations recorded. Because the single LED is the only feedback the unit offers I had no idea this was happening until I got back home.I would only recommend this unit if you are very short of money or don't mind the unpredictable loss of data.
