desertcart.com: Younger Next Year: Live Strong, Fit, Sexy, and Smart―Until You’re 80 and Beyond: 9781523507924: Lodge M.D., Henry S., Crowley, Chris, Hamilton MD, Allan J.: Books Review: great book - This has been a very informative book, written in a very entertaining manner. They bring up great points for all aging people to keep in mind and more importantly to imp, event, so that you’ll be younger next year. Review: Swiftly moving up the ladder of one of my favorite books - I really enjoyed this book and I have read it several times. It is motivating for me and I find a new perspective with each read. It has a lot of healthy things to think about in this book as one gets older and things don't seem to be the same as they once were in the height of the youthful days. Highly recommend for those interested in taking an active and healthy approach to living better as you age. It is written from a strongly male perspective so I was glad to see they have a version for women which I have given a copy to my wife and a copy to my sister. They have both enjoyed reading their version as well. It's one of a only a few books I have made sure to put in the hands of loved ones!

Great advice except the nutrition part.
Excellent book, very helpful and practical advice on living a long and healthy life. However, the section on nutrition is horrible! It's stuck in the old American Heart Association lies (sponsored by corrupt food giants) that recommends people eat toxic seed oils and avoid healthy animal fats. This advice is literally killing people and has long ago been debunked, even if our regulators are sadly stull doubling down on this nonsense. Definitely read this book but please rip out the entire chapter on nutrition!

How to leave a Happy, Great Looking Corpse!
As a seventy year old, sixty pounds over weight and miserable, I rediscovered this book. Now working out religiously, down sixty four pounds, I am active in my community, and i am truly happy. In January I am going out West to ski for the first time in 40 years with men twenty and thirty years younger than myself. Thanks Chris and Harry, we miss you!

The best health book you will ever read.
The best health book you will ever read. Highly motivating to get you back on track to exercise. I have purchased 4 for my love ones. Bought the female one for my wife. Sitting is the new smoking.

Excellent book on how to age and grow rather than decay
This book was recommended to me by a friend. It was a good read, and I'd recommend for anyone over 50 who is concerned about getting old and going downhill physically and mentally. I found most of the advice and recommendations in it to be very helpful and doable. In fact, I like it so much that I also purchased another book in the series that focused on exercise.

The co-author died at age 58
“Despite living the Younger Next Year life to the fullest,” we’re told in this revised edition, “Harry had some bad luck and died young.” Tragically, co-author Henry S. Lodge died of prostate cancer at the age of 58. He seemed like a genuinely nice guy. And sure, many factors are at play in the development and prognosis of cancer. Genetics for one. Randomness or “bad luck” as well. And while there is nothing we can do to eliminate the risk of cancer 100%, science has repeatedly shown that there are dietary and lifestyle choices we can make that will significantly shift the odds in our favor. Few of them are mentioned here. With Dr. Lodge’s tragic death in mind, I’m dismayed by how little attention is given to nutrition in a book about living well into old age. One slim chapter, full of outdated misinformation. Years of thorough, peer-reviewed research with actionable conclusions are omitted. Instead, we’re told that when it comes to nutrition, “no one really knows.” That’s simply not true. Unfortunately, this attitude is all too prevalent within the medical community. There is some useful information here for those dealing with old age. The advice on exercise is certainly valuable as well as the emphasis on the importance of relationships and practical tips on how to fill your days in a meaningful manner after retirement. But without proper nutritional guidance, this book rings hollow. Rest in peace, Dr. Lodge.

A very common sense approach to facing and aging well. Both authors share many common sense perspectives on life that we all should know but likely seldom practice. For this book reminded me and underscored a statement most of us heard before , "What the mind conceives the body will deliver". We all have the right tools to take control of our aging well but we often don't use them. This book helps us focus on those tools and guides us on a journey to enjoy to the fullest our aging part of our life. Jerry
