yes it comes with it the toilet works great

Q: If unable to install it, can it be returned for free? what happens in case of an item arriving damaged? I'm concerned since it's an expensive item.

My first one was damaged and I returned it via Amazon without issue

Yes, it's no problem to install the launday discharge into the sink discharge. All the size of the hole is same.

Q: Can i customize a vent for the charcoal filter? it seems like it's going to be stinky. can i order parts/pipes for the us to fit?

Generally, the carton will be changed every half year. So that keeps your bathroom free from the bad smell. or you can buy some deodorant. It can't be installed the pipes.
