Colonel Conk No.127 Shaving Mug with Pewter Caddy

Great mug, but it is a little too deep to use without a soap puck and the opening is a little too small to lather using a back and forth motion.It looks very classy and has a good build quality, but I would prefer something with more horizontal space to create lather.Currently, I take out the ceramic part to soak the brush in hot water before my shave to warm the ceramic and to soften up the bristles. I fill the sink with hot water for the ceramic peice to stay warm and to clear my razor between passes. The warm ceramic tends to keep the brush and lather warmer than usual between passes and applications.

Ordered this mug for myself along with three bayrum pucks by Colonel Conk. This product is tapered at the base of the ceramic mug and fit the puck in perfectly leaving about 2 1/2- 3" of space to build lather. As others have stated, I can see where it may be a little deep if no using a puck. However, this is a Colonel Conk product clearly made for a Colonel Conk puck and performs the specific use fantastically!The pewter mug base is pleasing to look at but for me is about all it is good for. I have been placing the ceramic portion in hot water after lathering and it seems to be working fine.

I love the look of this cup -- functionality? Not so much. It works but as others have mentioned it's a little deep for lathering. Not a lot of soaps will fit the cup but I was able to melt my soap and pour it in to take shape of the cup which solved the problem.

My husband is Mr. fussy when it comes to his shaving gear. He loved this mug. He felt that it was deep enough to stir up a rich foamy lather without it spilling out of the cup. He actually threw out his last dish which was much more expensive and he never throws anything away!

I chose this item for its stylish looks, not so much for its functionality. In my opinion, the two pieces makes it a bit cumbersome to use, but otherwise a very nice product.

Purchased this for my husband thinking that it would work well for his purpose. Oh my goodness was it bigger and deeper than I expected. Unless your husband or your guy has big hands, I really don't think it works comfortably.

Love the look, but the cup is kind of loose in the handle cradle and it's just a bit to deep.

My husband was really happy to receive this as a Christmas gift. Looks very elegant in our bathroom!
