Fate/Complete Material Volume 1: Art Material (FATE COMPLETE MATERIAL SC) Paperback – May 27, 2014

First of all, I want to say that I'm really glad that this artbook was released in English. I'm a really big fan of the Fate series and when I heard that this artbook was being brought over, I was really excited. I only hope that they bring over the other volumes of the artbooks, since they're really expensive to import.Now in terms of the book itself, I am very satisfied with the contents. As for that content, the book has all the event CGs, the locations, promotional art, and much more. But just as others have said before, this book does not contain the sexual scenes from the Visual Novel. Now, this does not really bother me since that means that this book is a bit more appropriate when you want to show it off to other people. Also, in my case, I previously bought the Fate/stay Night Premium Fan Book, and that had pretty much ALL the ero scenes which kind of surprised me. So for me that book and this one make a complete set. Anyways, if you want those scenes, then you'll have to get the Fan Book or import the original version of this Fate/Compete Material V1.To sum it up, if you're a Fate/stay Night and you enjoyed the Visual Novel (or even if you haven't played it) I would definitely recommend this artbook. Plus, the sales of this one will likely influence the decision on whether to bring other the other volumes, so lets show them that we deserve them! :)

This books is very well made and I'm so happy I got it. The book is thicker than most of the books I have from the same company, showing the art work for all the routes. Including 'Fate', 'UBW' and 'Heaven's Feel' along with publicity drawings, art work and the such that up to this day could only be found online or if you lived in Japan. The art in this book is phenomenal, truly a sight to behold. I must mention however, that unlike the original japanese version of the book, this version does not include the 'Adult' Section, meaning that you will not see the few sexual images that were in the original Fate/Stay night and in the original art book. However, there are a few images that show female nudity, however, said nudity is not shown as sexual.The art is only of the original visual novel, meaning it will not include the art of the Remake, Realta Nua, and of the other fate products. It did not show any sort of mistranslations, it very pretty and I'm very happy with my product. It was well worth the wait. If you are a fan of anime art, visual novels and/or Fate, I suggest you buy this book, which shows all the art of all key events in the visual novel. Keep in mind that this is only the first volume and if this book sells well enough, the next books will be translated and will include character sketches, designs and trivia!

While I think this Is a good book, it Isn't perfect. one point that dissapoint me is the fact that it doesn't have all the scenes of the visual novel from the PC version (the ones with sex, I mean), and It is strange, since there are some pictures that show the girls naked (one of them is totally exposed, only the lower parts are "protected" by some light). As the owner of an original copy of this book, I'm happy that I can read the words, but kinda dissapointed that some of the images are missing.Other than a few pictures missign, this is a great book!

Before I sing this book's praises, I just need to get one thing out. SERIOUSLY? We get the artbook localized when the actual visual novel has never officially come outside Japan? Not one version of Fate/stay night has ever been brought across the ocean by Type Moon but supplementary material does? Come on guys, throw us a bone!Alright, rant done.This book is without a doubt well done. It features the images of the three routes covered in the visual novel in all their glory. Well, almost all. It should be noted that the sex scenes of the original are not present (not a huge loss) though some nudity remains. Nothing heartstopping, but there is always that one person who buys something without knowing the details. It also does not feature the additions of Realta Nua. So no Nine Lives Blade Works. Sorry. It comes packed with promotional works fully translated (again, more than the visual novel has gotten officially) and entertaining to look at. For a book of its size and content I consider the current price more than fair. Also note that the success of this book will help to determine the release of the other Complete Materials. Needless to say I will be preordering volume 2 as soon as it is announced and hope to own the whole collection at some point.

The only published Western print of Fate/Complete Material is perfect. Contains hundreds of pages of original character art, background art, and effect art. Also comes with special pages of commercial art, professional fan art, and promotional poster art. Only gripe is that this paperback book easily dislocates from the glued backing, and so if you've read through it once, it will never completely close, making it difficult to stand on a shelf :/I had to use a clip to keep it shut and prevent of from toppling over... also, finger prints show up very visibly on the pages, so be sure to wash hands before handling!!Other than this, I'm looking forward to the second volume release!! ^^

So yeah seen the beautiful art and its very nice to think good but at a pages that catch my eye on i like it very much and I'm a big fan of fate series very happy with the purchase plus the book came out very new love it.

worth it, has all of the artwork from the visual novel and promotional artwork. if you liked the game you should definitely get this

Very nice drawings. I was a little disappointed that there were no Realta/nua drawings in the book, but the bonus art very nicely made up for that. Overall, if you're a fan of the series, I'd recommend it.

No cabe duda de que este libro es hermoso, comenzando con la presentación y es que esa portada con Saber y Shirou es simplemente espectacular, y es un adelanto para lo que encontraremos dentro.Este libro de ilustraciones contiene una recopilación de las CGs de la Novela Visual original, no de la re-edición Realta Nua que saldría años mas tarde, pero lo cierto es que siguen siendo ilustraciones geniales que acompañadas de una buena traducción hacen que la experiencia de pasar las hojas del libro sea un deleite visual, y que sean una de las pocas formas de experimentar de primera mano la historia original, sin recurrir a traducciones externas y es que resulta gracioso que el libro sea traducido mientras que la novela permanece alejada de occidente aún después de dos adaptaciones animadas, pero bueno, es Fate/stay night y es en inglés así que hay que aprovecharlo.Una compra que vale la pena sin duda alguna.6/5 - Would make contract with Alaya again.

All of the CGs of the original visual novel (save the erotic ones, not that i care) in one thick and solid book. <3I was able to explain the novel's 3 different routes to a friend using this as a guide.

i have always been a huge fan of the fate franchise so when i found out about the english release of the first artbook, i jumped at the chance to own it, i pre ordered it about a month ago when the release date was june 17th, then it was moved forward to the 3rd of june (my birthday) and i was pretty excited, so imagine my surprise when i got an email yesterday to say it was moved forward again to this thursday (22nd may)and it was on its way, it arrived today (wednesday 21st) and it really is one of the most beautiful books i have ever owned, it contains all the full cgs for the "safe" version of the game, omitting all the h-scenes in order to appeal to a wider audience, there is still some mild nudity but its nothing too graphic. the art really is quite beautiful and was well worth the £30 i paid for it, if you are a fan of the fate series or even if you just like collecting art books, this is well worth buying

Gorgeous art, great for any fans of the Visual Novel.
