Very thin better for kids
Great price for this mat, but it is very thin. It does keep you from the cold ground in a tent, but not much for comfort. I purchased these for my 15 year old and 6 year old sons. It was fine for the 6 year old. Note that I got the green one for the 6 y.o. Which is shorter in length without the pillow. My 15 y.o. Said the mat was ok but would prefer a thicker one. The mat looks durable just not for much on the comfort side, so if you're an adult or teenager I would spend the extra $20-30 bucks and get a nicer mat, but these are fine for anyone under 60 pounds.

I am disappointed in the quality
I am disappointed in the quality. The foam separated from the covering the first backpacking trip I went on with it and now there are big air bubbles sticking out. Its a little funky to sleep on now. It definitely scared me off about buying another pad that is both foam and bow up. If the quality was better it would be great. It's light and compact and fits in my pack really nicely.

Finally some dimensions
There are a lot of questions regarding the size/dimensions of this pad. It's manufactured by a seemingly unknown company and the only thing on their site is these sleeping pads. This made me skeptical but I figured for 35 bucks I could take a risk, and being fulfilled by Amazon means the return policy is always awesome. I wasn't sure if it was going to fit me but I just received it and I think it should work fine as a backpacking pad. Per the label on the packaging, the specs are as follows.70in (180cm) long23in (60cm) wide1in (2.5cm) thick1.9lbs210t polyester ribstop materialI've used Thermarest pads all my life and this appears to be of the same quality. I haven't slept on it yet or done anything with it beyond unrolling it to double check the dimensions, but it seems to be made pretty well. I will give an update after I've had the chance to sleep on it

For the price, these mats are great. The first few nights we used them we were disappointed, because they didn't feel like much and we could still feel the bumps from the ground. eventually we had the idea to blow in the self inflating hole to inflate it more, after that they were very comfortable and helped a lot. MAKE SURE TO BLOW MORE AIR IN BEFORE SLEEPING ON THEM!

Would've rather put more $ into better product
Bought two of these mats, have been using them for the better part of a month now on a long roadtrip. One developed a ridiculously huge "pillow" meaning it literally took up half of the pad, ended up just throwing it out. The other barely self inflates, would not depend on that function alone esp if camping on ground as opposed to grass. Try to fill it with air but it leaks it all out within the hour. It does roll up fine though, no problems with that.

It's been great. I'm a heavier guy (250 lbs.) and it was great. I used it on a four day campout and each night I couldn't even feel the ground.

Has passed the test
I tent camp across the Rocky Mountains for a week every year. Has held up well. This is the perfect middle ground between comfort and portability. If you go any thicker, might as well get a full air mattress.

Not very good padding at all
Use with other padding! Not very good padding at all. We doubled up when we used it and now have another one for sleeping and just use this for seating around fire or picnicking - great for that!
