I'm a first time user of magnesium oil so I did some research before deciding on the Mag Essentials brand. Apparently there are very different places where the magnesium chloride (basically salt) can be derived from. This brand mines their's from two miles below the earth from the ancient Zechstein sea bed. There's a lot of great material online that you can read up on this source. From what I read, it is the purest form of magnesium chloride available which helped me make my decision.I became interested in trying magnesium oil because of it's advertised benefits dealing with sore muscles, restless legs and insomnia, since I frequently experience all of those things. I tried it for the first time last night, spraying it all over my legs and feet, and I was amazed! First of all, I didn't experience any of the negative effects that I read about in a lot of other reviews. I have a few fresh scratches on my legs from my cats and I didn't feel any burning at all. I did feel only the slightest warming sensation. It also felt oily at first, but it absorbed right in and the tacky feeling it left behind only lasted a little while. I didn't wash it off and I didn't notice any salty feeling either. So my conclusion is that it effects everyone differently depending on your skin type. I was delighted to find that it's clear and odorless.The relief I felt on my sore leg muscles was awesome! I didn't get any of the tingly, restless legs that I often experience when I lay down to sleep and best of all, I slept like a baby through the whole night! I'm a bit of a skeptic when it comes to trying stuff like this, but as I've been turning to all natural remedies more and more over the last several months, I'm finding a lot of great products and this is one of them. I'm anxious to see how it works on headaches and other things I've read about in other reviews. I'm going to use this oil daily and am looking forward to reaping all of the benefits!**UPDATE**I've been using this oil every night for the last three weeks and I am HOOKED!! This oil works wonders on my restless legs and I've been sleeping so well since I started using it. I have noticed a few things about it's affects on me. During the night, my legs and feet feel very warm and moist, which may sound a little weird, but it's actually very soothing. I haven't experienced any of the tingling, restless leg syndrome that used to keep me up at night. I really can't believe how well I sleep at night. I did also twice experience the burning sensation that I'd read about in other reviews. Both times was after I had rubbed the oil in quickly and roughly on my skin because I was in a hurry. It happened two nights in a row and I was worried that I wouldn't be able to continue using the oil. I made a conscious effort to slowly rub it in the next night and it worked like a charm as it had before and has ever since. I really love this oil, I don't think I can live without it now!!

When I ran out of magnesium pills, I thought I'd give the spray a try. I thought about chellated magnesium pills but they are humongous and I figured the spray would be easier. I was right! I started with several sprays on my feet and calves (leg cramps at night), but it made my legs itchy. Now I just use a few sprays on the bottom of each foot at night and wow! what a difference. Within 10 minutes I'm asleep. That never happens! My husband has bad knees and swears that within two days his knee pain was gone. My teenage daughter is a competitive swimmer and she uses it on her sore muscles, but she has to watch how much she uses and where she puts it because it makes her itchy (she has sensitive skin). It's a big bottle and will last a long time.

I use this a lot at night to help my RLS, and I also spray it on my aches and pains-even used it for migraine relief. I really like the idea of a more natural pain reliever. But it is NOT a cure all. It will help but ibuprofen is still needed if pain is really bad-I think icy hot works better, but I try this as a first option because it's less chemicals. It's pretty oily, so best to use on an area that you can keep clothing off of for at least 10 minutes. For me personally it itches like heck, I have used many times and itching it still there... hopefully that goes away soon as the product description says it will.

Tried it once, but probably won't buy it again. I prefer the brand EASE. I purchased this product to help me get to sleep and stay alseep. I spray in on the bottom of my feet as directed and my sleep has improved. I am waking up later then 2:00 or 3:00 in the morning. If I need to take a bathroom break in the middle of the night I seem to be able to go right back to sleep without alot of tossing and turning. So for a short term solution until the changes in my life calm down, this is working.

I was disappointed how the package came: it had oil all the bottle. Plus, the spray nozzle works inconsistently. I am lucky to get the spray when I wanted it to spray. I will give it a few days to see it actually gives any benefit. Right now, it making my skin feels slightly itchy

This spray is easy to use. I have used it only twice so far It relaxes my feet and I think my whole body as I feel like I slept better. I am hopeful that it would continue as I like to use natural products to help with relaxation and sleep

Excellent! I have suffered from restless leg syndrome for at least 17 years. Having been on medication for most of those years I had to raise my dosage. I stayed a few days longer on a long week end and ran out of tablets. Wandering through Leeds Market I noted a stall with information about RLS and was told how good magnesium was for it. I bought a pack, discovered that it was good. Then I bought the oil which was amazing. So amazing that I rarely use it as it has cured it completely. The only time that I use it now is for cramp - it is so quick to relax the affected muscle that it is unbelievable.

After about 20 years on Quinine, I was informed by my new GP that I wasn't allowed to take it for more than 12 months, he was a bit shocked when I told him how long I'd been on it.Within 24 to 48 hours, I was begging to go back on it, but he wasnt allowed to prescribe it, I told my cramps and spasms were becoming a living nightmare and he suggested buying magnesium tablets, which had no effect, he then said take 2 a day, still my cramps especially were getting worse and worse, so he suggested a magnesium spray as well as the tablets. I started with one from my local health food store, which was £11.99 for 300ml. It worked, but using over my entire body every evening, I use a lot of the stuff, so each bottle wasnt lasting very long.Thank goodness I found this fabulous product, not only is it a 300ml bottle so it lasts a long time, but the product is far superior.The tingle can be quite intense when you first start using magnesium spray, and can last from a few minutes to more than half an hour, but after a couple of weeks of using, I no longer get the tingle.I would highly recommend this product for anyone who suffers from cramps or spasms.I have not noticed that it helps with any of my other pains or health problems, but live in hope!Update: January 2020Having been using this particular brand for several months now, I do love it, it definitely helps with the frequent and extremely excruciating cramps.Only downside is the bottles, they leak like sieves, I'm sure I lose as much of the product as is sprayed onto my skin, it gets everywhere, stains everything it touches.If the bottle problems could be solved this product would be absolutely perfect at a great price.

Whilst I like the effects I have felt from using this magnesium spray, I have a couple of downsides to report.1. After spraying the bottle just 10 times, the spray broke and after that it squirted out and all down the sides making it impossible to then even use as bottle was so slippy! I had to go buy another spray bottle to put it in, not expensive but still...2. The product (as others have said) is extremely oily and takes ages to 'sink in'.So an hour after this review, I had the pleasure of receiving a very nice email from Mag Essentials with an apology and a £5 refund as a kind gesture for having to purchase another spray bottle to decant! That was pretty cool and most companies wouldn't bother- happy with that level of service ;)

If you get cramp day or night, then magnesium oil is a must. There are different strengths and different sources. This one appears to be fabulous. It feels better than most. It's one of the higher strength ones, but doesn't sting like some of them, and it works. It certainly isn't expensive either for the size of bottle. Well done Amazon for getting it to me in less than 24 hours. My last oilman not working and this one works brilliantly.No, I am not being paid for this review, and I did not get it cheaply in order to review it. It's just worth it!

The bottle arrived half empty having lost partial contends in transit, an ill fitting cap and dispenser was the cause. When I used it on my legs as I get cramps at night, it got rid of the cramps, but I was awake all night itching and scratching even after washing the oil off (after 3 hours) I would up with red raw legs through scratching. I then tried it on my shoulders, as I thought some oil was better than none, on spraying, realised the actuator was also not working as it prayed a continual stream of oil so I have no clue how much would up on me, it was only after 5 squirts I realised I had probably overdosed. Anyway, rubbed it in, didn't get cramp, but 2 hours later shoulder started itching which never happened before.We are all individuals, and all have different skin types, I am ex Army and have skin like and old shoe, but for some reason this Oil didn't work for for me, I couldn't keep trying it as advised in the literature for a few days, Id have wound up totally incapacitated from itching all night. I wondered id the Air getting into the bottle in transit may have caused it to go off, but there are no active Aerobic ingredients in it, I wondered if the Actuator had been contaminated or tampered with, nothing convinced me of that, so I have to put it down to bad luck with the leaky bottle and faulty actuator and clearly my skin type does not suit the product. I wished it had as I really saw this as the answer to all my sleepless nights. I am not laying fault with the product, just making a statement that it like any product cannot suit every skin type, so if you have sensitive skin, then maybe it isn't for you. But then I am no expert on the subject. Nice company, and good product for those it works for.
