Edited Review: I Changed Something So Small...
So, at first, my crickets never showed interest in this product. I never saw them on it. It ended up molding in the container. I said I would not purchase again. What I did wrong was, I first put the product in a tee tiny bowl. The second round, I put it on a flat plastic lid and now they are all over it!Who knew they wouldn't eat from the bowl. And it was so small that it was the kind fruit cups for kids come in.My mind has changed and I'm glad I gave this product a second chance. I will buy again.

Great sanitary way to hydrate feeder insects.
I use this to help gut load my Dubia roaches and crickets. I bought the smaller bag thinking it’s not going to last very long but for my colony of about 200 I think this will last about 6 months.

Great Value
My only complaint is the size. The cubes are pretty little. They seem to dry out pretty quick. But you get a lot for the price.

Good Enough for Moisture, but Expensive and Temporary (especially in a hot room)
I liked the concept of water gels, storage of water without an open puddle, but I have learned if you use water gels for breeding insects in a hotter room (to encourage breeding) the crystals dry out fast and permanently shrink to tiny pebbles that won’t re-expand unless hydrated in a poorly ventilated bin. Same goes for water pillows, though they hold water a bit more and longer. This is not economical for the average person, especially people breeding many many insects and/or on a larger scale. And unfortunately sponges are hosts of bacteria and the like so pick your poison. I guess if you keep your insects at room temp the crystals are better suited, but if you are trying to breed crickets or roaches effectively you should avoid this.

Great
Very well packaged. I bought it to put in my insect keeper to keep the insects alive longer. My lizard doesn’t like dead insects
