Great hatch for what I needed
Wanted something to install in my boat seat to access the once wasted space behind my battery. This does the trick. Wasn't difficult to install. I traced the inside of the hole by removing the lid, then I added about a 1/4" the whole way around. Took some adjustments but I wanted to be careful not to make the hole too big. I don't remember if it came with screws (I don't think so) but I had what I need. #8 oval head, I think is what I used. Water pools where the latch is but I don't think any has gotten through the hatch so far. Seems sturdy enough if you need to sit on it as part of the seat, but I don't intend to put all of my weight on it by stepping on to it to get in our out of the boat. We'll see how well it holds up over time spent in sun and salt, but I am pleased so far.

Heavy duty construction, it Looks great when installed and works perfectly. But Does not come with screws!

Where to purchase the recessed latches?
These hatches are very sturdy and exactly what my husband was looking for so I purchased two of them and he installed them however the Recessed latches broke on both of them. Can I purchase two new recessed latches?

I used this for access to the bilge pump in my old aluminum boat. Works good. Sturdy enough it can be walked on.

I purchased this to use on a project so i could access a fuel door. It's very sturdy and could probably withstand a good bit of weigh, and has a weather proof seal. The only thing i dislike is the texture on the top, i would prefer a smooth surface

Unfortunately I had to send mine backBecause of the placement of the door hinges and no fault of the sellers!That's what happens when you have an older boat sometimes!Otherwise it is heavy duty and made well!
