Banana Leaves Hoja De Platano for Cooking and Decoration 16oz Pack of 3

To answer the question I get most right up front, yes these were used for cooking. Each year at Christmas my grandmother makes this traditional Venezuelan dish, and we used to have the hardest time finding banana leaves to be used for cooking. I have ordered these twice and they are perfect. They come fresh and ready to use, and they are easy to store. (we put them in the freezer until we were ready for them) If you cook with banana leaves, I suggest these. Great product and shipping was a breeze.

It arrived on time. It smells funny. I hope I can have fresher next time.

I appreciate the effort of bringing such delicacies of the tropical lands to these latitudes, but...As organic objects as they are, they average 11 inches wide and as long as each plantain leaf can go , considering an average of a meter and a half (up to two meter), BUT, as each leaf might have imperfections, from withered out sections to some tear along the length of the leaf I BARELY got LESS THAN HALF THE WEIGHT WORTH of fresh leaves; to make a batch of Costa Rican tamales, considering each tamale needs two leaves with an average area of 11'' by 11''.Also note that they ship in plastic bags inside a USPS box and that the weather in higher latitudes WA or Oregon in my case might have spoiled some and burned them beyond usage.Upon arrival every leaf had to be quickly hand washed and slightly heated in a gas burner to make them flexible for manipulation (this also brings the good oils inside the leaves and the nice memories).Consider calling them and asking for better leaves if you receive poor quality and stinky leaves, mine served the melancholic emergency during the holidays but unfortunately didn't had the bargaining time and power to return them being in such dire latitude and close to the holiday season.The work they needed and the amount of wasted, cracked, withered, and stinky leaves calls for a reconsideration in a future purchase and a possible return.

Much larger packages than I imagined, and quite fresh and flexible. Actually had some minor condensation in the package before it went into the freezer. Impressed!

They were delicious. Was so happy to find them online because I miss using them from back home in Puerto Rico

Worked out fine on the recipe but way to many.

These are OK. A bit more fragile than others that I have used, i would probably buy them again.
