LeapFrog LeapStory Teller with Projector and AC Adapter Green

I'm loving this toy, and it is an excellent toy. However I feel that I need to put out a warning for international buyers.Check your country's power supply before using the included AC adapter. The suplied wall wart is for 100-120v countries only, meaning North and Latin America, US territories, Japan, Korea and several other countries. If you live in Europe, Australia, New Zealand, many parts of Asia or indeed, anywhere else in the world, you do not want to plug it in directly to the wall for safety concerns, you need a step-down transformer. You may get a unit that has an AC adapter that will work in your country of you buy locally, but the unit you're getting from Amazon ships with a 100-120v adapter.However I should further emphasize that the AC adapter is in fact unnecessary to fully enjoy the toy. The toy runs off four AA alkaline batteries, and the charger cannot be used to charge rechargeable batteries. It is purely to allow the toy to operate in night light mode without draining the internal batteries too quickly and the toy can in fact run the night light off batteries. You can even try using a regular cellphone charger or even USB power banks if you don't feel like using batteries at the behest of warranty.EDIT: I’m extending the caution a bit- even if you got your’s locally, inspect the wall wart before using. The toy finally made it to Malaysia and I bought a second unit hoping for a 220-240v British 3-pin (or at very least, Europlug 2-pin) wall wart, and to my dismay the version sold here also comes with a 100-120v US wall wart (which is bad news if plugged into a Malaysian 230v power supply). So regardless of where you buy your LeapStory from, please check your wall wart. However, again I’m emphasizing that the wall wart is unnecessary for operation and can be trivially swapped for a USB power bank or a common 5v microUSB cellphone charger.

This is SO GOOD!!!!! I was on the fence because there were no videos of it and it isn't cheap... but I paid full price and don't regret it at all! The projections are really cute. I didn't know what they meant by "animations" - but they truly are animated (moving images of Scout the dog, constellations, etc.). The stories, poems, and fables are narrated by different speakers (great voices - very animated) with fantastic side effects. The songs are either classic LeapFrog songs (song of which are sung by Scout, others you may recognize from other Leapfrog toys or videos). If you press Scout's head down, he will tell funny jokes (some start to repeat, but my 4 year old likes that). The nighttime melodies are pretty and soothing. My son was a little confused because he thought this would be like Amazon's echo/alexa (responding to him), but he caught on quickly. He learned how to use the "record a voice" function and loves that the most. I wish they had this when my 9 year old daughter was younger, although she enjoys it, too! Totally worth it. It's easy to make the image clearer by twisting the projector piece - and you can also angle it whatever direction you want. I tried to post a video of what the animations look like.

I wish I could give this toy 5 stars my daughter and I love it. It’s a great substitute for tv right before bed. The tv can go off and I don’t have to deal with tears because this will fill the void right away. The featured are great it has so many song story’s and joke selections as well as a cool feature to record and allow it to play for for your little one. My only issue is that shortly into having it just days, ot would only work with the charger it being battery operated was like not a thing. Besides that though it work perfectly for my family a year lady and my now 6 year old still ask for it before bed.

We have many Scout toys, but this Scout Reading Projector is a great addition to our story time. Just press the button then it takes you to the different categories. It has many classic stories, songs, poems, and even cute funny jokes. My little one loves to listen to the stories before he goes to bed. Worth every penny.

Very happy with this purchase. I got it for my son’s 3rd birthday hoping it will help him sleep in his room again. It worked! He loves to listen to the stories and I can enjoy my bed.The only complaint- I thought the projector would work better. Not many options available. I thought there would be cute pictures for each story so he can watch them as he listens to them but that’s not the case. You can see the stars and Scout but basically it. Not a big deal. In overall I would def buy it again.

Our boys 4.5 and 6 love the stories! French we can hear them laughing as lay in bed listening. The only other feature we have tried this far is the music and it soothing at night. I do wish the image projected was larger,but that is minor.I would definitely purchase again and gift it to others.

This is an amazing gift!!! I got one for our 1 year old nephew and our 5 year old son. I love everything about this. The stories are great, the music is fun, and it's very engaging. The only thing I would love is for an option to keep it going all night long, a place for an earphone jack, and a plug that could go into an outlet. However, even without those options, I still give it 5 stars. Our son loves it and takes it everywhere with him.

My daughter loves this!! She loves bedtime now and loves listening to her stories. We used to fight to go to bed now she can’t wait to go to sleep and listen to a story. She barely makes it through one and is out like a light. Great product. I do wish it had a larger variety of stories but it does give you the option to record your own which is a nice touch. Would definitely recommend!
