Dulcimer Songbook: Hymns & Songs of Worship

The list of songs was good and the page layouts are very good. I was disappointed with some of the arrangements. Some notes were changed, probably to make playing them easier for beginners, but that always bothers me. I do appreciate when extra notes are deleted for ease of playing when learning a new instrument but changing the main melody notes, even slightly, just doesn't sound right to me. But song books with tablature for dulcimer players are not easy to find, so I would recommend this book in general for beginner players.

This book is very well done and user friendly. Each song has lyrics and chord diagrams included so that you do not need to turn to the back chart continually and can play/sing any song throughout the book immediately.This is aimed at beginning to intermediate players and uses standard mixolydian tuning, (DAD), and featuring a 6+fret. Chord symbols are included for group play.In the back of the book you'll find tuning information, chord charts, tab instruction, strumming and picking patterns.There are 3 sections in the book, the first played just on the melody string, the second portion includes the middle string and is a little harder. The third section combines melody and chord playing.

I love the variety. The only thing I misunderstood is this only has the bottom number for fretting. I prefer all three. But I cannot say that is against these guys. They are spot on for that style, and I have learned to play one string for a few songs. Both styles are different. And I LOVE these books!

I am having to learn flattop picking because of a neck injury that messed up my finger control. I used to play guitar, but lost the finger control when my fingers are curved around a neck

Written for the Dulcimer in DAD tuning, but maybe be used as to single picking on the melody sting/strings in any tuning.

This book has them all and they all sound great.

This is an excellent beginner gospel learning song book. I love it.
