Improves Workflow and Taste
I was skeptical that this would actually improve the taste of my coffee, but I was pleasantly surprised. I can't compare it to other similar products, but compared to just using filtered tap water and descaling, this is a noticeable improvement in both workflow (not needing to descale) and taste. I will be reordering.

Night and Day difference
I’ve been brewing at home for a long time via an Origami and Aeropress and I’ve had other drippers as well. Since leaving my sales/marketing role at a large coffee shop I’ve not wanted to mess with water and TDS but I finally bit the bullet just to get my home brewing back to specialty coffee shop quality and wow. After a few brews side by side with tap, spring and distilled + TW it’s wild how different (better) it is. I’m spoiled again.

It's a must have for distilled water
Hi. I live on a few acres outside of town and are on a well. The water is hard so I've taken to distilling my well water and then using it for our coffee and tea. What I like about this Third Water Mineral Packets is that they come in individual packets. 1 packet per gallon. I can do that. I like the way it helps my (distilled) water to have any sort of taste. I make 1 or 2 latte's every day as well as a pot of tea. I like how this helps me to have a better tasting cup of coffee and tea.

It works!
It actually works! I drink strong coffee, and this took the bitterness out of it.

Salty and too thick
I mixed this per the instructions with distilled water. It has a pH buffer that effectively reduces acidity but the result is an unbalanced espresso that is salty and way too thick. Espresso is already a thick beverage so making it even thicker is like tone on tone: it’s unbalanced, heavy. This might go unnoticed in milk drinks but it’s not very tasty as a straight 1:2 espresso. The saltiness gives a false impression of minerality and while the salt may play well with the sugars of milk (the espresso was still too salty for me diluted 1:1 with milk), it’s overwhelming in a straight espresso. There are possibilities here. I was optimistic and really wanted to try this for remote tastings where we all start with the same water, but this formulation isn't right for me.Edit: My tastes adjusted to the ‘Espresso’ formulation after going through a gallon of it but I feel the ‘Classic’ profile is better. It’s generally less assertive. I want to taste the coffee not the water. I’ll probably continue to use the ‘Classic’ profile.I don’t recall if the company makes any claims about using these sachets for tea but as a tea somme I can say that good teas don’t have the pH issues that specialty coffees have. A better solution for tea would be to use a natural spring water with a low to moderate TDS and unobtrusive flavor.

Be very careful - might not be safe for espresso machines
I really wanted to love this product. But as it stands now, there are way too many issues and unknowns related to product instructions and contents to remain a customer. After a few gallons of use, a lot of *not great* things happened to my machine:1) My water tank didn't feed water into the boilers correctly2) My grouphead started spitting out steam instead of a steady stream of water3) My steam wand lost pressure4) The hot water tap dispensed cloudy water with flecks of "something" inside (looked silverish)I spent over two hours with my retailer to resolve the problem. Here's where I think things went wrong:1) The TWW packet needs time to dissolve (e.g. don't just put the packet into the gallon, swish around, and expect that the minerals are completely dissolved and ready to be put into the water tank)2) The dissolving process needs to be refined (putting a packet of minerals into a full gallon of distilled water does not create a great environment to create a completely mixed, consistent, dissolved solution)3) I spoke to someone from the company who told me that the TDS target was 150mg/L (this isn't on the packaging anywhere) and I still don't know how much Calcium they're adding to my boilers (too much? too little?)It's a great product in concept, but needs a lot of work for the end customer. AND it's pricey. 15 gallons of water for $15 PLUS the cost of distilled water for minerals that you can buy from a natural food store for pennies.
