Original Album Classics

These may not be Gil Scott-Heron's best albums, but they're all very good, the price is great, and the packaging is excellent--miniature reproductions of the original album sleeves. I think the mastering could be a little better, though--all three albums sound a little "muddy" to me--and I do hope they soon reissue these with the best possible sound. Gil Scott-Heron rest in peace. Like the grooves of these early 80's records. But some of the fire is gone from 70's. I guess we all mellow slightly as we age.

Great way to pick up three very good, not great, early 80s albums he made on Arista Records. I wish Rhino Records would acquire the rights to his catalogue and do the same for the Bridges, Secrets, and 1980 albums.

I know I am showing my age now. This provides two of my favorite GSH albums on CD and a bonus third. Very satisfied.

Three classic Scott-Heron discs for a very reasonable price. 'Reflections' is best, with 'Moving Target' a close second. The full length version of 'B-Movie' alone is worth the price of admission. As others have stated, they do not constitute the very best of GSH, but are none-the-less essential purchases for lovers of soul, jazz, and beat poetry everywhere. Most don't even come close to the warm sincerity that Gil exudes from every pore. Cracking stuff.

His movement more toward mainstream soul and in many ways just as effective.

Also grundsätzlich ist die Musikbewertung immer sehr subjektiv, daher hier nur der Hinweis: Wer Gil Scott-Heron mag, macht mit diesen drei Alben nichts falsch. Ich höre mir inzwischen Alben die ich kaufen möchte zunächst komplett (z.B. bei Spotify oder hier bei Amazon) an und entscheide mich dann.Zur restlichen Qualität:Die Audioqualität der Aufnahmen ist meiner Meinung nach wunderbar, da habe ich nichts zu meckern.Die Verpackung der drei CD's sind je eine kleine CD-Tasche aus Pappe in einer Box zusammengefasst. Bei dem Preis sicherlich total in Ordnung!

Sehr gute Sony Qualität, da gibt es nichts zu beanstanden. Die Musik ist perfekt. Drei original Alben für diesen Preis einfach super.

Like most of his records - great stuff

Buena música negra de los 70`s, con uno de sus exponentes menos conocidos. Recomendable si te gusta ese tipo de música y esa época.

kannte bis dato gil scott-heron noch nicht, wurde nicht enttäuscht, alle 3 cd's vom feinsten, klangqualität gut. meine empfehlung, gehört in jede sammlung.

The dynamic range in the mastering is unusually good. For those fighting the "loudness war", these cd's DR range are DR 13, 13, and 14. So I strongly disagree with the above reviewer about the mastering.

Ein toller Künstler, über den ich durch Zufall gestolpert bin. Nur zu empfehlen, da seine Texte sowohl gesellschaftskritisch als auch politisch sind.
