Slight defects on mating surfaces I had to file off. Took about 2 minutes. Other than that, this is some of the best money I've ever spent on fixing an engine. 18.5 hp intek v-twin is running great. It's cheap, it works, buy it.*just a note, I needed a 6 point star socket to install this on my machine.

for literally less than $40, I was able to get my Briggs and Stratton (405777) 18 hp v-twin running like brand new again. the changeover went smooth. all the gaskets needed to install the new carburetor are included, as well as 2 spark plugs. (although the spark plugs did not meet my standards... very... not good plugs.) a new fuel filter also comes, as shown in the picture. overall, I'm very satisfied!

I had to rebuild it in a month 2 seals were installed wrong the gasket for the idle mixture port was not in the correct place so it was smashed and leaking. The mower would not idle it searched for a rpm all the time so I used parts from my original and made the carb work. If the seller gets this he should at least send me a rebuild kit so I can go in and replace the gaskets that I had to use from my old carb. The rebuild kit was only $5 cheaper than the Carb to replace it should have got the kit would not have had to take it off 2 times to repair the poor assembly quality

The carburetor runs great. It does have its issues at least it did for me. The throttle linkage stop that is cast on the side of the carb body was about 1/4 of inch to long on mine and caused the throttle linkage to bind against the intake manifold allowing only about a half throttle then sticking. I filed the cast stop down and solved the issue. WHEN ORDERING pay attention to the choke linkage. This was listed as a direct replacement to my carb part # however the linkage on mine was different. I did not notice this till after install and I had to remove the carb and switch the linkage and choke butterfly bar out for my old one. It took about 30min to install including reinstall and mods. For the price I'm amazed it runs the engine as well as it does but having to use parts from the old carb and file down the casting makes me wonder how long it will hold up. It did fix a surge issue I had at low idle and I'm able to run a lower rpm befor it dies all issues from passages in my old carb getting clogged. Iv had issues with only getting a season or two out of k.o carbs as the machining on the passages leave a lot to be desired if it holds up past a season I'll come back and give it another star. I highly recommend a new fuel filter and fuel shut when you install this so you can run it dry before storage and keep the passages free of debris.Also there Is no thread locker one the butterfly screws...I recommend you remove the screws add thread locker and reinstall keeping it from working loose and getting sucked into the valves or cylinders.
