Distillers need to make a profit, and as such, they will stray a bit from the "hearts" of a distillation run. The hearts come from the middle of a distillation, and usually contain the smoothest spirit, but only providing this in the final product results in lower profits. Distillers are then forced to include part of the "heads", which tend to contain some of the harsher tasting spirits in a typical distillation run. Not a problem, if you're using this to extract and concentrate essences where the alcohol flavor isn't important.This spirit (after dilution to 40%) sure tastes like it has a lot of heads in it. I understand why this is done, but after using a quart of this stuff to extract orange essence from zest, and making orange-cello from the result, I'm resigned to the fact that I'll need to run the remainder of the gallon through my pot still to isolate the hearts, before trying that again. Aging my orange-cello for a month has mellowed it a bit, but not enough to my liking. I like SMOOTH liquor.The good news is that the nearly unpalatable heads I get from re-distilling this can be used to make my own hand sanitizer, along with some aloe gel I can get from a plant in my yard. This will be very handy for the coming COVID-19 "apocalypse". You're not going to find hand sanitizer on any store shelves right now, or probably for the foreseeable future, but it's easy to make your own with this stuff, as-is.

This is the real deal. Use it to make hand sanitizer. Not sticky, no chemicals, no residue. Even use it on electronics. Checked the MSDS on their website that confirms ethyl alcohol. Really great product. Highly recommend!

Worth the extra money for my tinctures, especially during a pandemic because it gets delivered. I'm not likely to go back to the last brand I used. The increased quality was noticed.

If anyone was doubting what EOX uses to make their organic alcohol, this is the real deal. At the factory they either use organic corn, wheat, or milo to make their alcohols. This is perfect for making my essential oils, shellac furniture stains, natural disinfectant for the hands, vanilla extracts, and recipes that call for vodka. They specifically state on their website their alcohols are not denatured. They are an American company which has been in operation for over 60 years. Their alcohol also passes USP test for Color, Clarity, and Volatile Impurities. USP sets our standards for dietary supplements and food ingredients. This is not cheap alcohol either. It's definitely worth the purchase.

I purchased this before, when it was pure... I kept it in my car for extra octane as my car is tuned to run on up to 85% ethanol. Is this still safe to add to my gas tank or is the missing 5% water? I doubt it was your preference to stop selling the 200 proof, but I’m sure sad you had to!
