IGNORE THE IGNORANT 1 STAR REVIEWS
People really don't read the description for these. All the one star reviews I've read complain about the fraying and rough cuts. THATS HOW THEY ARE TRADITIONALLY MADE. It's the type of material that sets these apart. I got them to wear as headband and around my neck and I'm sure they will work great in addition to my Samue. All I have to say is before you complain and give bad reviews, please read the description of the items first and what they are traditionally used for. Just because you bought it and it looks like something we use in the west doesn't make it so. Japan is on the otherside of the world and has a completely different culture. Of course they will use and make things differently.

Beautiful, but fell apart
I bought a pack each of the red and blue cloths. I haven't even used them yet, I just put them in the wash and they came out unraveled, with little red and blue strings all over the rest of my laundry. I'm not happy; they're so beautiful, and a few straight lines of stitching would have prevented this.

Terrible
These aren’t dish towels. They’re cheap, scratchy towel-sized pieces of fabric with unhemmed edges so they fray terribly after a single wash. They don’t absorb anything and they’re scratchy to even wipe your hands on. Save your money and get something else. These are trash.

Thin fabric with nice design
iit looks like a yard of thin fabric cut into thirds. It has a nice print.

Don’t buy unless you know how to sew.
Great material and pattern. But don’t wash them or use them for anything. I washed them once before using and they started falling apart immediately. I’m going to have to sew up the ends so they don’t unravel completely.

Poor quality & it smells like chemicals
I bought an inexpensive tenugui while in Japan, and it is 10X better than this. It also took 2 washes to get rid of the chemical smell.

I'd give it a perfect score but for the terrible smell!
I love these, nice pattern and extra long size but the smell! It took forever to wash out, still not sure if it's gone, but it's now on my hands and in every room I've been in! Ug!
