I shopped all over finding this amazing solution at a great price! Installation was very easy in my kitchen cabinets providing a beautiful clean light (I had the lights but my old transformer went bad).

This is an electronic transformer for driving halogen lamps. It's not a DC power supply, the output is a high frequency AC waveform. I doubt this would be appropriate for LED type bulbs, but I'm not sure. It is much smaller than a power line frequency transformer so it fit in the base of my halogen lamp fixture. There was a slight variation in the appearance from the picture - The AC input power side wiring is a black and a white wire (the black would be normally connected to the hot side of the AC power). The output side is two white wires that connect to the halogen bulbs. The leads are marked on the device which side is AC power and which side is the output for the halogen bulbs.I received my device, wired it into my halogen lamp fixture and it worked perfectly. Note that it will not run without at least one halogen bulb connected - so wire the power switch on the AC power side, not the halogen lamp side. Also note that halogen bulbs come in various wattages - choose a halogen transformer rated for more than the sum of all the halogen bulbs it will be driving. In my case I allowed for two up to 50 Watt bulbs in my lamp.The good:It works fine with no problem (as long as you hook it up correctly).It's a hard to find part that can fix your expensive halogen lamp if the old transformer failed.Very compact for its Wattage.Could use improvement:The picture on Amazon should match the actual part - The actual part has a tab coming out each end at the bottom for mounting and the AC wires are black and white (standard US electrical color code) not red.

DOA - straight forward hook up, but didn't work. I replaced a working power supply (of a different make). So all the wiring is known to be good.Update: I opened it up before returning. Giant broken/cold solder joint on the PCB. It actually lifted and broke the pad. Once opened, I saw that it wasn't nearly as substantial as the one I was replacing. Bought LED lamps instead. Not as bright as Halogen bilbs, but they don't fail.The old power supply is quite a bit heavier than this one. The old one worked, but we were burning out bulbs every few months. I thought I would try a different unit to see if the old one was over-voltage. So now we get to do an Amazon return.

I like that the specs I needed were available to replace a transformer on my under cabinet halogen lights. No problem after weeks of use.

The wires were tin and difficult to work with. When plugged in, it sparked and became nonfunctional.I removed the lid and could see a black spot from the spark on the bottom of the PC board that may have touched the bottom of the metal casing where there was a black spot too. The thin film inside the metal casing did not provide sufficient insolation. I may have wired it incorrectly by connecting the d.c leads to the a.c power and the a.c. leads to the load. Good quality on the board but marginal design quality on its enclosure.

Used this unit to replace a blown transformer for my 12 volt track light in my kitchen and it worked perfectly. i ordered two more and have add 12 volts lights to me closet and bookshelves. Its awsome. I use 12 volt halogen bulbs in screw in sockets to hang from overhead wires without the risk of electric shock. I love them. I keep the load to under 140 watts just to be safe.

Small, works just like the one it replaced that was about 20 years old. Works great so far.The only problem is, it does not come with any instructions to tell how the wires hook up.My husband had to go online to check to make sure he was hooking it up correctly.Red was power in and white was power out.

2 transformers from another manufacturer failed although the load was well under the rated output. This one seems to actually provide it's rated output.

The product worked as advertised, dimmer function worked. Delivery was 2-3 weeks outside the delivery window however worth the wait. Appears to be a quality product.

This item worked perfect and was very easy to install.

Worked for 2 or 3 days then stopped working. Disappointed.

Had some difficulty with my fixture but their support help me work through it. Problem solved!
