Very simple and works amazingly well.
A very un intrusive lock that did a VERY good job of securing the sliding glass door.As a first responder I have used sliding glass doors to get into peoples house to check on them, it is a HUGE liability. This latch does not allow giggling of the door to the point that the door can be lifted out of its tracks.

Easy to install --- especially the 2nd one
This lock works just as advertised. Easy to install --- especially the 2nd one. And it seems extremely secure. My slider opens from both sides, so needed two locks. This fit the bill nicely -- relatively unobtrusive, easy to operate, and secure. Would add a star if there weren't so much black that could just as easily been white to blend in with the white door and frame. Can't remember the last time I saw a black sliding door!

Latches securely
I like the premise for this latch a lot. when you lock it, you know it is locked i.e. now way to mistake it either way. The downside, for me anyway, is that the "female" recepticle that secures inside the door jam is too long. The kit comes with a long and a short (better terminology escapes me at the moment) recepticle but neither one "fits" appropriately IMO. I used the longer of the two and now my door doesn't quite seal as it should/used to. If I would have installed it flush I would have defeated the seal on the double pane.

Simple yet rugged
The latch mechanism on our sliding glass door, without our realizing it, was nicking away at the metal piece it was supposed to be latching onto to lock the door. Two ideas my dad had was to buy a new door handle for that door or to replace the door with French doors entirely. The French door idea was put on hold because it would be too costly (we already replaced the front door) and the door handle we bought would require retrofitting the door, something none of us were skilled in.I’m not sure what cause me to think of a bolt lock for that door. I was just looking for ways to deter theft and one suggestion was to make a sliding glass door harder to pick up and lift out of the way. This bolt lock is an easy to put together kit. There’s two different hinges you can use as well as plastic pieces to make sure it’s flush at the anchor points while still being able to bolt. It’s simple yet rugged enough to deter theft. Even if someone did try to do something, there are some vibration alarms you can buy on Amazon for $10 each.

Four Stars
Easy to install but I did have to go buy shorter screws to install the lock on my slider because my door had a metal part that I could not drill or screw through. This has stopped my two year old from opening the door and I like that my slider is locked up tighter and you can't see the lock from outside.

Security
As a computer guy, I'm not very handy when it comes to house-work, but this was easy to install. I like it and highly recommend it for sliding glass door security. On a side note, as far as home security is concerned, here are other items I recommend:- Armor Concepts - Door Jamb Armor (This helps prevent the door from being kicked in)- Keyless deadbolt (Because a keyed lock can be picked in seconds, just look on Youtube if you don't believe me)---- I use Samsung Ezon Digital Door Lock SHS-3321- Window Security Film (Lookup Youtube videos of this stuff, it really helps prevent someone from entering through a broken window)- Metal security door.

Not much good for my door.
This latch consists of two pieces: One screws into the door jamb with the screws parallel to the wall, and the other screws onto the door with the screws perpendicular to the door. I don't know about other sliding glass doors but mine is flush with the inside wall, so the door jamb screws are only going into the hard plastic frame door frame and then drywall, not into actual wood frame. So while it may add an additional amount of resistance, it doesn't add anything significant that couldn't be beaten with a pry bar I am guessing. What I need is for the door jamb part to instead go on the outside of the wall and be long enough to screw into the wood frame with screws perpendicular to the wall.

Pretty good loock.
Nice Latching mechanism, pretty secure. For installing it was harder than I thought to drill straight into the door and get level. My complaint is that the wall side receiver only has 2 screw holes and came with pretty short screws. It should have been made with 3-4 screw holes in the wall plate and come with 3 1\2 screws to be totally pry proof.
