Solved P0456 Code on ’08 Dodge Ram 1500 SLT V8 HEMI
Check engine light came on at 120k on my ’08 Ram 1500 V8 HEMI SLT. Ran a scan and P0456 (small emission leak). After an internet research, the most common problem associated with d with this code is a loose or faulty gas cap.Purchased this OEM product. Installed in a minute. Perfect match and fit. Comes with plastic retaining strap just like original. Just use screwdriver tip to pry off plastic retainer from the gas cover. I erased the code and it remains off, thus problem solved. If you do not have engine reader to erase the code, then try disconnecting the battery for a few minutes (negative terminal) and reconnecting to see if it will reset the check engine light after installation of your new gas cap.

I had a problem with my check engine light being on, got a new gas cap at the suggestion of my mechanic, worked for a bit, then didn’t. Got an original gas cap, this gas, cap, and my check engine light is out!

As advertised!
Product arrived promptly & adequately packaged. Product appears to be "as advertised" but time will tell it is has longevity. I initially purchased this product with the hopes that it would put an end to the error code of a possible loose/faulty gas cap on my 2015 Ram 1500; however, it did not due to other issues later diagnosed. However, at least I know I have a new OEM gas cap! Product appears to be of good quality & is appropriately priced.

Great replacement. Attaching the leash to car frame takes a little finesse.
Came in a jiff. Fits perfectly. Thinking check light will go off within a week or so. My scanner is in storage. Could tell the old cap had a weak seal. Tried greasing up one before. Still needed a new cap. Going to see if a socket extension and sharp hammer blow will seat the attachment line in the hole on the car body. UPDATE: Used an interchangeable screwdriver hex end and a few sharp hammer blows. Leash secured to car body.1-5 minute job with tool selection, alignment, considerations, etc. and done. Good product. Exactly as described.

Worth the money! I tried a cheaper cap from the auto parts store. It was hard open and the check engine and gas cap lights were still on.This one I can easily open and close. Both lights went off. I'm very happy. U get what u pay for.
