Jazmine is Back
Jazmin Sullivan teased us by releasing singles and I could not wait for the full album to be released. The wait is over and I have to say I love it. Her 1st album was good, her 2nd in my opinion was okay, however this one is personal from track 8 Forever Don't Last. I love when an artist is free to express themselves and put out real music and this my friends is just that. Bravo Jazmine, I been playing this all morning, and love it more and more.

Blindsided by the Talent on this one!
OMG...I didn't know!!! This album is SO diverse in the song styles, and in Jazmine's vocal expression, it's insane! From the expected R&B/Hip-Hop feel of the first track ("Dumb")...to the "behind the curtain" peek into the THOT-like game plan ("Mascara")...to the high-energy pop feel in "If You Dare"...to the empowering anthem she delivers in "Masterpiece"...and EVERYTHING in between... This album is one that REALLY puts Jazmine Sullivan's artistry on exhibit and has a "draw" for a broad audience. I originally bought the album because I love her voice...but as I was listening to it, it became apparent very quickly that I was listening to a real "production", full of characters, storylines, and themes. VERY nicely done!

BEST ALBUM I'VE HEARD IN A WHILE
I've always been a listener of Jazmine Sullivan, but after listening to this album, I am now a fan! How she's able to step into the shoes of so many different characters and tell their stories is so awesome to me... Best way I can describe it, poetically melodic, without the *snaps fingers* *smokey cafe* feel. She went with a youthful sound while still sticking to some of her soulful roots. It was great to hear something different from her. She is an awesome storyteller. What made me buy the album was the track "Mascara"... When I listened to the lyrics, I was curious. Bought it off of Amazon mp3, and I loved it! There's a couple of tracks I'm not a fan of like If You Dare (which I probably need to give it another chance), Hood Love, and Forever Don't Last (I love the song, I tend to steer away from album singles). Songs I've gravitated to are Masterpiece, Let It Burn, Silver Lining, and Veins. Masterpiece, Let It Burn, Veins, and Dumb seems like those are personal for her while the others she stepped into another pair of shoes. Fun songs are Stanley and Stupid Girl... Oh I love those songs.. This is a MUST HAVE!!!!

There is an underlying challenge with such a great talent that should cause the people in her camp ...
The truth is Jazmine Sullivan is among the elite in her writing and vocal delivery...Mascara proves that alone. There is an underlying challenge with such a great talent that should cause the people in her camp to reevaluate how they handle her...Get off you Buns and go old school grind to get this young women where she wants to be! There absolutely should have been a stir and a video for Mascara and MonaLisa. I've said my peace. Now the album itself is very "Wordly" in content but done exquisitely. This is a top shelf production A+ Ms. Sullivan.I still await a live jazz vocal concert performance.

J.Sullivan might be the best R&B singer working today
Jazmine Sullivan has returned to her first love. I assume it's because whenever she hears herself singing at home or in her car she says "damn I just did that?" "I need to put that on a record." And with the type of galactic class vocal ability she possesses who wouldn't want to keep singing? Her skills simply cannot be ignored for long. She also cannot be confined to only one Genre as evidenced with her work here. Her first release the radio friendly "Dumb" featuring Meek Mill received modest radio play which is fair possibly because it was moderately interesting or different from her previous work. However her second release "Forever don't Last" the unplugged vibe the George Bensonesque scatting was refreshing and is gaining a cult status. That's how you can describe Jazmine she is a virtually unknown cult. She has some cult like die hard listeners that appreciate her relentless pursuit of perfection as well as her emotional connection to any track she drops. She goes in like a woman possessed. The third release "Mascara" tells the sad tale of a girl who's entire identity and livelihood is based on her appearance and she has been apparently consumed by her own vanity. I really loved the slammin "Brand New" Its crafty soulful and current. It's a song about a young girl who's devotion to her man doesn't pay off when he blows up. But I have three other favorites the aptly titled "Let it Burn" is fire. Jazmine's vocals really shine on this track. Also the After 7 sample and background vocals are masterfully used in the song to mesmerizing effect. The light hearted "Silver Lining" about a lost soul in search of riches and happiness is a revelation. The fast paced strangely retro yet futuristic disco track "Stanley" is like controlled chaos. Jazmine's deep sultry voice works here to great effect. I think this is her best work so far. As a whole It takes the R&B game to a level very few can reach. I really hope Jazmine doesn't take too much time off next time cause she needs to continue to share her greatness with the rest of us.

there is never a bad time to listen to it
I play this full album (no skipping) especially when I'm in the car. I sing along and act a fool, so I know the cars near me can see me in the spirit. It use it when I'm cleaning the house too. there is never a bad time to listen to it. Jazmine's voice is so off-the-charts. Her rifts are crazy, lyrics are fun/funny. She is simply amazing!! She shows some different directions that almost don't even sound like her. I love the diversity.

Sullivan's show
Gotta say jazmine reality show is excellent nice album to start off 2015 and you can see her growth as an artist. I truly think this is her best work yet to date and you should give it a listen.

Faulty Jewelcase, but amazing music!
This album is so dope start to finish! The only thing I'm irritated about has NOTHING to do with the music. My cd came badly damaged, not the disc itself but the jewelcase. I take the ish seriously since I collect LPs, CDs, Cassettes. Its a nostalgic thing for me to have a physical copy in good shape that will last. Its more annoying to have it replaced so I'm not going to, this is just a heads up for the people who ship this item QUALITY CONTROL. This record is too good to be sending out cracked ones!
