Three Traps, One Night, 12 mice... I can't imagine better results than that...
I have always been interested in methods for trapping and removing rodents from chicken coops and goat sheds. My search led me to these 421CL Multiple Catch Mouse trap units... with the clear view lucite window on top.I normally just set the old fashioned Victor Mouse Traps... peanut butter (they can lick that off without springing the trap) tootsie rolls -best bait for the old "snap" style traps. BUT, when you have chicken coops, the ol snap trap can't be placed on the floor as the chickens, guineas or even nosey cats would possibly just snap the trap and that's not good.LIVE CATCH has it's merrit... I've had the little darker plastic live catch traps (with one entrance) those have honestly worked, but are often just avoided or the mice walk right back out in some unseen clever way. These units are larger (so the chickens can't move them around so easily) and they effectively keep what they catch inside. I like that I can see them at a glance to know what is or is not in the trap.I baited them with regular chicken feed... this may or may not have been the attraction. I also placed them so the entry holes are along a wall where mice would likely travel anyway. After catching mice in them, I left that mouse scent in the trap so other mice would probably follow the scent of others out of curiosity.I was thrilled to find mice in all three of the Eaton traps after just one night of winter warmup. Having mouse droppings in the chicken feed and on the drinkers (or worse in drinking water), is profoundly unhealthy and the mice must be removed. For those who can't stand the idea of snapping a mouse do death, these are handy... also very nice for field studies which would allow for examination of the unharmed specimens/species in your area. You have the option of relocating the captives elsewhere, or even using them to feed rehabilitating raptors and other meat eating wildlife that are recovering in shelters.Easy to place, easy to open (even with winter gloves on) and well constructed for years of dependable service. You could also place them in gardens, though you may want something larger as it's been my experience that gardens attract larger vermin. So, when having something that snaps, kills or can hurt fingers if inadvertently tripped is not something you want to deal with, these are designed for YOU. The enclosure also prevents cats, dogs and other opportunists from munching on a dead or trapped animal.I would definitely recommend them to my friends and fellow poultry enthusiasts.

Very effective mouse trap
After discovering that we had a mouse problem a month ago, I immediately went with the traditional solution of poison and the no-see traps; neither of which were very effective. The poison was eaten a little and they did not even touch the traps, ultimately doing nothing to solve the problem as I continued to find mouse droppings every morning. After doing a little research on getting rid of mice and how horrible these traditional methods really are, I opted for this no kill trap. I baited it heavily as suggested and it has worked out amazingly!! The first night I used it I caught a mouse; and another one every night for the next 3 nights. After about a weeks time I caught one more. Since then (along with the use of peppermint oil as a deterrent), I have seen no sign of any more mice and it seems I am finally mouse free. The trap itself is pretty well constructed. The see through window is very useful to tell whether a mouse has been caught or not. I don't think I would have been able to tell otherwise as they didn't really add any weight to the trap once caught. My only real criticism of this trap is that the "window" seems a bit flimsy like it could easily be busted out by accident; and sometimes the ramps get stuck down a little. Other than that it is a great investment for anyone looking to rid themselves of a mouse problem. I would highly recommend it!

It was like they knew what it was
The mice I had in my house wouldn't go into it for anything! It was like they knew what it was. I paid for overnight shipping. Excellent service from the company. I handled it with gloves like one of the reviews I read so they wouldn't smell my scent. Nothing. This is supposed to be baitless. I gave in and put peanut butter. Nothing, just more mouse poo everywhere in my kitchen, ick! Then I tried fresh nuts (peanuts, cashews, walnuts). Nothing. One night, I watched quietly to see when they would come out--within 10 minutes after the house got quiet. They would come out all through the day. I thought mice were nocturnal! These guys were so brazen, they would run down the main path to and through the bedroom in plain sight, with me in the room rather than sneek along the walls. No matter where i moved the trap trying to put it in the midst of most active area, they would just go around it. I sat and watched and observed the route they would take. I put boards up to force their route through the trap. Nope, they just went on top and through a hole! They got into my harvest nut bread, so I put that in the trap thinking well at least I know what they like to eat. Nope! I got cheddar cheese and rubbed on the ramp and left chunks in the trap. Nope. After weeks of trying to trap these guys humanely, concerned time was just increasing risk of more mice, sick of spending hours daily cleaning, recleaning, and sanitizing the kitchen counters and cabinets where they would poo, not wanting to cook in my kitchen knowing what was there, I put out snap traps with the same cheese in the humane trap 2-inches away in the main area they would emerge. Within 4 hours I had gotten one in the snap trap by the next day I'd gotten the other. Both were snap traps. So sad. This thing does not work.My friend had bought the competitors version and he had the same problem. Never caught a single mouse in his. I put his out at same time as this one when I was trying to catch mine. Nothing! For me, it was a huge waste of money and a ton of stress as I kept moving my food prep to new locations, cleaning up after myself, only for the mice to find my new surface with in a week! The table top in the dining area was (I thought a safe place--surely they couldn't climb the the skinny legs of my pub table in the middle of the room--nope poo showed up about a week later! Arghh!)All in all, so far 3 mice and no more poo. I've moved everything back into the kitchen cabinets. So nice to have my kitchen back! So sad for the mice.
