Summers Heat 50-SVL17 Wood Burning Stove With Blower Window 8,00-1,200 Square Foot

We bought one from a local hardware store and have used it for almost 2 seasons. It looks great and performs well for our space. There is a learning curve for using it and the key is using well seasoned wood. With dry wood it works great and burns hot. It's not a big stove so you have to know what you're looking for in terms of size. The price can't be beat and having support from a company in the US is a huge bonus. I did the install myself with no problems. I haven't reviewed many items but I love this stove!

It was way too small very disappointed

This is a nice inexpensive alternative to the pricey modern Euro/Scandinavian wood stoves available. It is very shallow so the maximum size logs that fit easily is 14". Solid and well made in the USA. Air regulation is pretty efficient and the glass stays fairly clean. Circulation fan works well although high speed setting (it is 2 speed) is a little loud. Perfect for 600-1000SF.

We looked at a lot of wood stoves, and ultimately picked this one because it was the ideal size and footprint for our small space. For us, this wood stove is primarily for supplemental heat, back-up in case of power failure, and ambiance. The stove has been very easy to start a fire in, and it puts out an astonishing amount of heat for such a little stove. We opted not to install the blower, because we really had no way to get power anywhere near the stove due to our chimney construction. We've found the maximum log length to be about 16-17". I built wood storage next to the stove that is exactly 16" deep to take the guess work out. The glass hasn't stayed quite as clean as I would like, even though I've been following the instructions carefully, but it cleans up like new with a little ceramic stovetop cleaner. I would also note that the break in fires are no joke! Make sure you open a window for the fumes, and be prepared for the smoke detectors to go off! After our first real fire though, the problem went away completely. We are very happy with the stove.
