I've been using this miso for a few years - it's better value than the small jars that are available, so especially useful when needing larger amounts for stocks or sauces. The taste is light and recognisable. The pale colour makes this especially good for broths but it's important to taste before adding more salt. A bit difficult to store once open but a very versatile ingredient. I use miso a lot as I spend a lot of time in Japan - I particularly like this one and it's vegetarian/vegan friendly.

This paste has performed very well so far, making incredible miso soups and sauces which are just as good as in any restaurant. I cannot read any of the packaging, so I am not sure if it's GM or not... I can only assume that it isn't as GM is typically labeled in UK. My only complaint is about the expiration date being only 3 months after the delivery date. Typically I would expect miso to have a longer shelf life. This is not a comment on the quality of the product, however, and so I won't deduct any 'stars' from my review.
