Silly Straws Silicone Reusable Smoothie Straws (5 Pack)

Slight aftertaste for the first two or three uses, but well made, playful looking, soft, flexible, and a great alternative to disposable plastic straws. I would definitely buy these again, but...note that they are a bit wider than a standard size straw. I already had a straw cleaning brush, and while it easily touched the sides of the stainless steel straws it came with, it does not do so with these straws, which makes them harder to clean. My one real gripe is that they should come with their own appropriately-sized brush. I would not mind paying a dollar or two extra for a set with such a brush, because I doubt it will be easy to find the right size elsewhere, and I have no desire to buy twelve different brushes to find the one that does fit! Still, nice straws -- and I like that I am using silicone, rather than plastic. (If you are wondering, the stainless steel straws would have been fine, except that they turned out to be a low enough grade of steel to trigger my nickel allergy. Burning esophagus! Such fun. So if you have a nickel allergy, consider buying these silicone straws instead of stainless ones, yes?)

These straws are what I've wanted for my kids. They're reusable, durable and you can actually get a straw cleaner in them easily to clean them. They do have a bit of a funky taste in the beginning, but I ran them through the dishwasher twice and I can't detect any smell any more. I've tried glass (my kids inevitably drop them, or I break them while washing them), stainless steel (who wants to suck on stainless steel? Besides, they're hard to clean if they're the bent kind and you can never really see inside to know they're clean--not my favorite) and just not allowing straws in our lives (that's kind of a bummer when you're a kid!). Anyhow, these have lasted well and show no wear and tear signs of their frequent use. We keep two in the car for when we find ourselves at a restaurant that kindly offers plastic straws--I no longer have sulking children when I lay down the no-more-plastic-straw-law. No more tossing straws!

Same as my other silicone straw review - as I endeavor to remove plastic from my daily life (and mouth), and the paper straws I used to purchase have changed so they're virtually unusable, these silicone straws work beautifully. Everyone in the family has their own color, too, which makes keeping track of drinks a bit easier. Good for outdoor use as well, without that plastic odor.

Check sizes. I have purchased two sets and they were distinctly different sizes.

It’s ok does it’s job but it is a little harder to drink from. It is very portable and easy to clean. I keep it in my purse just Incase I need it. Doesn’t take up much space so it’s great for on the go.

The glass ones are great but not having to be careful or worry is nice and besides these are more fun looking! I use the cleaner tool that came with our glass ones so I'd recommend getting something to make sure the insides don't get yucky. No smell or taste that I was worried they might have.

We love these straws because they are reusable and easy to clean. We use them for smoothies and juices. Previously I had stainless steel straws but I did not like the feel of them on my teeth. I much prefer the soft silicone.

My kids love these straws, and I love that they are silicone and reusable. I wash these by hand and they are very easy to clean. I've even used these babies a few times!
