Not good enough!
I was very happy with my previous zapper and wanted a second. The previous model was no longer available and had to shop on a new model. I did my research based on reviews and design. I was wrong in both ends. The racket looks nice and the size is proper, however it fails on two very important ends. A. Flies do not fit through the protective screen and B no power to kill, just to buzz. Those that make it through the screen get a... slap on the wrist, it does NOT kill flies. The zapper comes with a protective screen (my previous did not have that) and the openings from the screen are small. regular flies do not fit and can't be zapped. I had flies walk on the darn thing and it wouldn't zap them!!! Some I trap below and see them walk, see them getting zapped and as soon as I lift the racket they flew away! ZERO FLY KILLS! I am not sure if the protective screens are required now, as they limit the bug size to mosquitoes, not flies, and only small spiders, everything else gets a get out of jail card...

I bought one before, about 2yrs ago.
I'm handicapped, and can no longer walk. My Caretaker came over this afternoon, to get my mail, and my package from Amazon, with my new electronic fly-swatter in for me.I charged it up completely, till the red charging light turned blue. When I tried to hit some fruit flies, it didn't do anything. As I looked at the charged wires, I noticed it arcing out in some areas, as I held the button down to operate it.That's the same reason I threw the other one away about a year ago. It had quit zapping flying gnats, but only showed small arcing in the wires.Same thing on this one too !!!Now, my caretaker is going to have to deal with sending this one back, for a replacement.I'll contact Amazon in the morning, since it's already 2:30am, and my Caretaker has been gone for hours. Why can't things just work the first time I try to use it ?

Zzzzap it!
The zapper is just great! Specially for those of you who live in countries with lots of bugs and mosquitoes...Would recommend any time! Battery life is great, in a couple of months I’ve only charged it 3 times.

It will stun the fly but you must make sure to 'fry' it.
I was extremely impressed with this fly swatter, you could hear and smell the fly you hit. At first I was so crazed with it that i would keep pressing the 'zap' button to make sure it was fried, once i got over the hype and would just smack/swat it, I realized that 'frying' it is necessary to kill it with the fly with the swatter. Or you can manually finish the job and grab it with a napkin, squish the fly and then trash it. I hate to give this a 3 star but in a way it defeats the purpose of splurging on this fly swatter. The swatter is ok to hold, it looks fun, first few swats are fun. It is on the larger side, the mesh that zaps the fly has different materials which make it nice so that the fly wont fall through. There is a slightly loud sound once the swatter and fly make contact, it is very quiet before you swat the fly.You can smell the fly getting zapped, so it's strong. It has a really neat flash light. The only negative is that it will not instantly kill the fly, you must continuously be zapping the life out of it.It's a pretty neat swatter but it kind of defies the purpose of having an electric swatter.

Not worth it
The flys go right through it or it takes more that one shock to kill it

Kinda useless
This is how my boyfriend described the experience:The racket will shock you more than it shocks the fly. As the lightening bolt sparks when it hits the fly, you freaked out thinking you are going to get hit by lightening, dropped the racket, now the Fly is on its back twitching trying to wake up, then he had to use the edge of the racket to chop it dead. We were expecting the shock will be strong enough to render the fly a heart attack, but we still have to clean the racket. Not what we expected. Btw, mosquitoes will spin on its body like a spinners.

It ZAPs when you kill them!
So it would be five stars except for one feature, and it's probably a safety feature. The "on" switch doesn't really make it "on", you have to push a button while you're "swatting", and it's kind of high up on the handle. Not a deal breaker, but on should be on and that's it.It definitely zaps the bugs though, and you know it when you get them. Poof into thin air. I almost think the flies in my house knew I bought it as they all but disappeared once I unwrapped this thing. Fun and satisfying in a "morbid" kind of way.

Most excellent and satisfying bug zapper
Love this thing. It’s solid and not only kills bugs, it ELECTROCUTES them with a satisfying sizzle.
