The Bird Gard Pro Plus has solid-state electronics inside a control box that is NEMA rated and good in almost any weather. The digital bird repeller has random operation for sound frequencies and replaceable EPROM chips that can be changed in the field to target different birds with different sounds. After purchase we will contact you (same day or next business day) to determine the chip(s) you need. The Pro Plus has two external speakers (you can choose to add up to four more) and two built in amplifiers for crystal clear, high volume digital sound. The unit easily mounts on a pole or post with the bracket and hardware that comes with it. Multiple speakers with cables allow you to set up diverse coverage patterns, even for long, narrow situations. It comes prerecorded in a variety of configurations. With the Bird Gard you can repel the birds of your choice from airports, buildings, crops, fields, or anywhere else birds are a problem. Digital recordings of distress and predator sounds provide an annoying electronic harassment to birds, making them feel threatened so they leave the area. Because they are digital they won't degrade over time. The unit has multiple sounds you can program and select for your situation. Each sound can be turned on and off. The random play mode plays at random frequencies and orders, then remains silent before starting again. This keeps birds from hearing the same thing all the time and becoming used to it. The Pro Plus can be powered by either a 12 volt battery (can be charged with optional solar panels) or AC current. Frequency range: 2000-10000 Hz. 110V. cUL/CE/UL listed. EPA Establishment # 075130-OR-001. Includes: Sound generating unit, Two external speakers, two built in amplifiers, 100 feet of cable for each speaker, 110V power adapter with 6' cable, 10 foot battery cable with clips.

Great for Cedar Waxwings not so great for Grackles
I have a small 2 acre blueberry orchard and the Cedar Waxwings have circled my field, but have not entered and berries have been ripening for six weeks now and they have not touched them. The Grackles seem on edge but are still entering the field. The chip I received is for common grackles and I have boat tail grackles and I have not found anyone with a chip for boat tailed grackles. Not sure if that is the issue or grackles are just too intelligent. The other deterrent I use is flash tape.

This item did not work well for us. We purchased it for an apartment complex and the residents complained about the sound and it did not deter the birds. I would not purchase it again.

poor randomization makes these a human torture device
These and their big brother the "Bird Gard Super Pro" are unbelievably annoying to humans nearby because they don't randomize playback in a natural way. They just play the same calls in the same order, but with (barely) random spacing between them. If you want your neighbor to hate you - this is the device to buy
