I purchased the smaller size for my 7lb dog about 1.5 years ago. Its very sturdy, super easy to set up, and my dog stays put. The features I like most about that seat and the large one of the same brand and model:* Easy to set up* Sturdy frame and deep seat with side walls that go up above their chest. I don't feel comfortable with seats where there is nothing to keep my dogs from launching forward if I had to stop abruptly.* Secure (car seat belt secures through the back side, strap on dog seat goes around back of car seat to keep it from swinging forward, and another strap goes around the head rest and is adjustable). The large size comes with 2 "seat belts" to hook to their harness (NEVER the collar!).* Collapsible. Unlike the foam walled and seated beds that cost double and triple the amount of this car seat, I can collapse this for storage. I have limited space to store stuff.* Washable. The interior plaid piece comes off and is washable. I don't know about the outer shell. The fabric is pretty durable. I put a soft baby blanket on the inside as extra protection for the dog seat liner and cushioning.* Great size. I can fit my 7.5 lb dog and my 10 lb dog in it (she is a shitzu mix so she is long) and they can both lay down in it and its still roomy. Not cramped.* My dogs LOVE it! They can see out the window, lay down and chew on a bully stick, nap comfortably...its really an awesome car seat for my dogs and my peace of mind!Things that could be better:* I don't think the interior liner is waterproof. That would be a great upgrade if not.* The seat cushion is not all that cushy. Not a big negative as I put in a baby blanket and its fine. Would be nice if this was waterproof fabric too.* Would be nice if the top of the frame had some bumper cushion in it so if dogs rested their chin on it, it would be softer.That's about it! I purchased a car seat that was $95 and had a cushy back and seat but I promptly returned it. Even though it had thousands of great reviews, I didn't like it because I don't have space to store it if not in use, the fabric on the back and seat was cheap and thin and I saw it getting torn over the years. Even though it was an extra large, the seat area would not have fit my dogs on it comfortably, and because of the low wall, one could roll off it either when sleeping, they shifted around or I had to put on the brakes. Plus I thought overall for the price it could have been better constructed.For $45, I think I have a practical yet very comfortable, sturdy and safe solution to tow my furbabies around in with the PetSafe Happy Ride car seat!

This little booster seat is just a delight. I bought this for my future little doggie but in the mean time I actually transported a plant in this booster seat. I was moving and I didn’t want my heavy potted plant to get destroyed or die buried somewhere in a box during transit. It was a smart thing to do because it worked!It is very easy to assemble. The seat belt will fit through it quite nicely. At no time did it bounce or look as if it was leaning forward. The straps remained nice and tug and didn’t loosen at all. I would say the seat after assembly is set about 4.5 - 5 inches above the seat you put it in. I had it in the passenger seat. When I get my little muffin I know she/he will be safe and well tended to.I appreciate the design of this seat for a few reasons. First and foremost, dogs love to stick their heads out the window but having the window mostly down just creates a lot of crazy wind in the car not to mention that road droning sound. With this seat, their little head is higher and closer to the ceiling thus only requiring the window to be opened a small bit. Inside the seat is a little metal loop that you can tether your little muffin to so that they aren’t in danger of hitting the windshield in the event of dramatic breaking or an accident. I know that’s pretty morbid but I’ve known quite a lot of paramedics and that happens all the time. Also your little doggie won’t be able to wander all over the cabin for their safety and or if you have kids or a baby, everyone can keep themselves to themselves. This little booster would also be awesome in an RV. The lining comes out so you can wash it but I would just line it with a blanket so as to avoid wearing down the canvas material. The last comment I would mention about the design is the front pocket; the designer didn’t cheat you on this part at all. It’s a sizable pocket enough to hide your coin purse or wallet, dog bags, keys and dog snacks or dog snack sticks. All if that would fit. The velcro is strong and ample as well.I kept the box so that I can store it perfectly away. To store it sufficiently, place it inside a clear plastic bag with a laundry sheet to keep it fresh and then inside the box. Enjoy!

Our dog, a terrier loved it right away. High enough to view the world, soft enough to sleep most of 800 miles. No hard edges at top of basket to irritate dog’s head or neck. Don’t be afraid to buy if you have a medium small dog or a cat. Comes off easily at the journey’s end. Made well. Would not look further unless you have a larger dog.
