- You can shift everything ~ 2V down. For Example from 5V to 3V for white or blue LEDs or to connect 3V modules (RC, Arduino, etc.) to 5V circuits. Or 12V to 10V. Or 3.5V to 1.5V, etc. Resistors are only needed if the current is less than ~ 3-5 mA. Max. input voltage is 50 V.
- Max. power dissipation is 500 mW and max. current rating under normal conditions is 250 mA, so it can drive modules or input gates with up to 250 mA current with great voltage drop stability!

The connection to be made is very simple, particular if your output circuit draws more than ~ 3-5 mA (you don't need the resistor - just Input to level shifter to output)!
These level shifters will get you up and running with different voltage projects. So let's say one module needs 5V and the other one 3V. You can use the level shifters to shift the voltage down. Up shifting is usually not needed as 3V is recognized by 5V circuits as "high".
