Bought these to give as ruby (40 yrs) anniversary gifts. They were intended just as token gifts, so I didn't want to spend alot. Fit the bill perfectly. HOWEVER- the seller's description incorrectly said they were the January birthstone. Rubies are July's birthstone.

It was for our 40th anniversary which is the ruby for the 40th anniversary.

Looks more expensive than what I paid for them. My wife has gotten wonderful compliments for this jewelry

The necklace was beautiful. The earrings were a more orange color than red but they are beautiful. I'm gonna keep them. The chain is a pretty silver and it has a pretty pattern.

Overall, this particular set is rather cheaply constructed, or at least the chain and earring backs are... the links in the chain feel like a strong breeze could break them and the extension links at the clasp are not closed flush but overlap. This would be a problem in itself, but the metal is so light and insubstantial that you wouldn't notice the overlap if it caught your hair/clothes. As for the color... HORRENDOUSLY untrue to presentation: the pendant is a faded red that almost more resembles more of a red-brown color, whereas the earrings are just as described by other reviewers... bright orange. If you love University of Texas at Austin, these earrings are just the burnt orange for you... but if you are looking for red, look basically anywhere else.
