Let technology does what it does best "AUTOMATE"
Took about 10 mins hooking up the wires from old to newCreated an account and setup all the zones online took about 20 mins.Downloaded the app and sign in and that was it.Why I need this:Every week, I have to watch the weather and manually turn off/on my irrigation system to water our plants and grass. If I don't do it, it's $100.00 a month. If I do, then $50.00 bucks a month in water bill. The rain sensor that came with our water system never worked. Replaced twice and just never worked. It could be pouring outside and still watering the lawn. In days that are not hot, you don't need to water the lawn as long or in some cases not at all. Also, when it is windy, watering the lawn is like watering the pavement. The wind will just blows everything away from your grass. Big waste. Also, sometimes I need to water certain zones on hot days, I needed to go outside turned on a zone a ran like hell to avoid getting wet because my controller is outside. There has got to be a better way.Result:Now I can just let technology does what it does best. Automate. I can turn on a zone in bed or across the country. No more running around. The weather will control my irrigation now. The wife could care less but I love it.How it works: All FREECreating an account with Hydrawise gives you weather stations based on your home address that you can subscribe to. Weather stations give you temperatures, rain forecast, wind speed. Based on these you can suspense your watering automatically on the days that are cool, or chance of rain or of how high wind speed is. You can set this up once and it just works.the iOS app is nicely design but the developer should go in and fix the interface for the iPhone 5s. When the system is running in portrait, the updating icon keeps pushing the text back and forth. Very distracting. Fire up Xcode and add some missing constraints should fix it. This does not happen on the iPad app or running the phone in landscape mode.

Worked great for 2 weeks
It seemed OK till it lost contact with the web (about 14 days).Tried all reboots and it could not find any routers. Took it off wall and found the case was warm to the touch.Maybe it was a dud, also same time got a great email notification stating how much water I saved, don't think so as it didn't rain and after 2 weeks it just came on like a rainbird dumb controller but didn't connect via wifi. Put it back in the box went to my Amazon account and returned itThis is no nest version of a sprinkler system as someone purported it to be in a review, I have 2 of those and have had no issues for 2 years so far.Maybe great for some but didn't work for me. Thanks Amazon for making returning it so easy.

Look at the other ones closely, and then Buy This!
Great product and service.Look at the other ones closely, and then Buy This! The wording in the instructions and in the product feature configuration pages still needs a bit of refinement, but the product and the service are amazing! Also, the support is top-notch, with hands-on guidance if you ever need a tip or trick for how to set it up, or make it do what you want, etc.It may not seem like it at first (like, if you don't quite understand the flow of the intuition used in creating the features and instructions for how to use them), but this thing can most likely do whatever you're looking for in a controller at this level.

Absolute Best Smart Irrigation Controller
OK, I closely looked at every smart irrigation controller out there. The Hydrawise, and the associated website and iPhone App for controlling it are nothing short of amazing. I can set, edit, change, run, stop, pause, configure, every aspect of my irrigation system, and better yet, it changes on it's own (based on my thresholds) based on heat, rain and weather. The App and Site are both stunningly beautiful, incredibly easy-to-use, consistent with each other, cover every feature/setting you can imagine, and are actually a joy to pop into to see graphical status if sprinklers running, and look at report. Speaking of reports...wow! You can see detail of the cycles and varying usage (due to weather) of your entire system, see your water savings over time, see what the weather was in the past that caused it to run more/less, and even see water flow through each (if you have a flow valve feature installed in your system).Only watch-out is that it does NOT have a "separate" connection for a master valve (like many manual systems), so simply need to account for one of the eight being used for the master...IF you even use a master. The caught me as my irrigation guy planned 8 zones and I didn't have any left for the master. Ironically, after intense research on whether it is good or bad to "use" a master valve at all, I found it is actually NOT a good idea. So issue solved. If I did need one, I would have needed a second controlled (they are designed to cascade!), and support even kindly offered me a discount on the second one because I was only using it for the Master valve.Support is superb. E-mails promptly responded to with both e-mail and even a phone call. They are very helpful and really want the best for their up-and-coming product. They are going to take over if the main traditional competitors don't realize they need to catch up!

Great Value and Easy To Install
Have been using this for several weeks. The App and Web Page have a lot of functionality - really appreciate how it can water or not water based on a percentage likely it will rain/not rain. Also do the same with humidity. I am not sure if I see any value of using the paid app, but will see. The only downside is the number of stations - fortunately I only have 8. Good value compared to other controllers that have iPhone app capability.
