Note the hour the clock chimed out and remove the battery. At this point you can put on the hour hand on its shift at whatever the hour the clock just struck. Now put on the minute hand on its shaft at the 12 o’clock position. Put the battery back in. Rotate the set wheel on the back of the clock to the next hour setting and stop the minute hand just prior to the 12 o’clock position and let the clock movement move the minute hand and note it’s location when the clock strikes that hour. Remove the battery. If the minute hand and hour hand are slightly off, pull either or both off their shafts and then put them back on in exactly the correct positions. Replace the battery. You may have to repeat this process several times to get the clock hands correctly aligned with the chime sounds from the clock. **Q: Will the clock work without the pendulum?** A: Not for sure but I would say yes. **Q: What does the indented button on the back of the chime do? Pushing it just makes the chimes come on. Can this be used to turn the chimes off and on?** A: Hi, The button is used to synchronize the chime count to the actual time on the clock. Each press advances the chime count by one. Some chimes allow a no chime from 10:pm or 11:pm no chime till 6 am.
