Interesting - good as a nightlight for kids
This product comes as either a moon or the earth. I got the earth one and it looks good - but is an impression of the earth rather than being an accurate globe. It is easy to set up. It comes with a small charing point - but not the ubiquitous micro usb - which means you will have to make sure you don't lose the wire. The other end is usb A - so will plug into a charger you already have. The colours can be changed on the body of the lamp - by touching a small metal sensor. You get more flexibility from the provided remote control. You can dim it right down. Charging time and battery are average but ok. Shame it does not have a count down timer. The wooden stand is simple and comes in 3 parts that you simply push together. You can use it whilst it is being charged.Overall, this is an interesting light. It would appeal particularly to older kids / teenagers I think, but I am a lot older than that and I like it!

Overpriced alien planet lamp
The description on the instructions with the lamp says it is a 3D Moon lamp. I think it is meant to be the 3D Earth lamp but in which solar system, it would be impossible to say. It is certainly not the Earth we know well, just sort of the same colours! That aside, it's easy to use and has multiple settings for colours, brightness etc. If you lose the remote, you can still turn it on/off and adjust a few other features using the tiny button found beside the socket where the power cable is connected. You can use it with the cable or charge it up and run it from the stored power. It is lightweight and is provided with a wooden stand (made in three pieces which you clip together). It has a textured finish; presumably, that is the 3D effect but is actually more like an Artex finish because the effect is universal all over the sphere (I won't call it Earth and it certainly isn't our moon). At £21.99 at the time of writing, this is really overpriced for what is supposed to be an internally lit Earth or Moon.

Fun Lamp - But Not Earth
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. When this came up for grabs I figured it would be ideal for my two five year old grandchildren because they are at the very curious stage at five and have asked and are asking millions of questions about planets. I guess something must be going on at school. So I got this fully thinking that it would in some way show the Earth. But, it doesn't. It is 'Earth like,' in that if you squint a bit it does have the look of our wonderful blue planet but that's about it. When you get closer it's clear that there is only a slight representation of some of the land masses and even then they are highly distorted. What I can see is maybe a stretched North and South America and perhaps a bit of mainland Europe, but that's about it. There is nothing accurate enough to use as a demonstration to small curious people. As a thing to look pretty on a shelf then it's great especially in a kids room. The controller can light up all the colours of the rainbow or set various schemes that rotate through the myriad of hues. It's also 5v charged via USB power supply so completely safe if you charge it up and then take it to a room.Overall a fun thing that looks interesting but has little in the way of Earth like information on it.

Lovely, effective planet lamp
This is a very good "planet" lamp which is perfect as a night light or feature lamp. It is not a replica of Earth so do not expect it to be the same as an actual Earth globe model. The light is a nice size, not too big or too small and it comes supplied with a wooden stand and charging cable. The lamp is very easy to use either by touch or using the remote control. The remote has lots of settings, there are 16 different colours and 4 different lighting effects - flash, strobe, fade and smooth. The lamp can be set to show just one colour and the brightness can be adjusted. There is also an on/off button on the remote. The lamp is very effective and is perfect both as a night light or feature lamp. Great for kids too!Overall a well made, good quality lamp that seems pretty robust, it should survive the odd drop. Currently priced at £21.99 on Amazon which I feel is a little on the expensive side. Happy to recommend the product to others.

The Moon lamp is better than Earth coloured lamp.
This LED Planet Lamp is a good size and is a great night light, thanks to the 10 increments from bright to dim provided by the remote control. The wooden stand is a modern design and enhances the planet lamp, which in its self, provides a talking point and is an attractive curio.I have the the earth-like planet lamp, and I do not like the inaccurate continents. The colouring reduces the effect of the 16 available LED colours as only the areas of white clouds on the planet let the colour through. It looks like the earth like colours have been applied over a white moon-like base which is profiled with lots of craters and bumps.I would have preferred the alternative white moon like globe, as the colour changes are much more dramatic and uniform. This also provides various mood-settings - blue moon, pink moon, harvest moon, etc.The LED Planet Lamp is novel. It is appealing to both adults and kids and will definitely be noticed.
