It's at least as fat as you think it might be. :)The main barrel sure feels like hard plastic. I expected Metal. The grip part is softer and sufficiently "grippy."It DOES use slim-style replacement cartridges--not the standard FriXion ones. Knowing how quickly standard FriXion pens run out of ink, I'm not optimistic about the "mileage" I'll get from these slims.Like all FriXion pens, it erases WONDERFULLY without grungly particles and without scratching up the paper.I measured the circumference with a thread & ruler best as I could. I liked the metal body but I didn’t like the thickness of the ink. Also, I keep my planner in my purse and don't leave it in a hot car or anything but some of the ink still disappears over time. Oh it’ll absolutely fade if you left it in your car. Also, when you do erase it, it does a weird thing when you write back over that space.Wanted to love it but it didn’t work for me.

Frixion pens are my favorites because I make so so many mistakes. I also make mistakes when I write and I need to erase them. It does not erase mistakes in any other aspects of your life but it does erase ink, which is at least something.Anyway, this pen is plastic so it really shouldn't say metal in the description.

Great pen. Have been using the Pilot FriXion .07 pens and buying them locally but could not find refills. Was pleasantly surprised that the pen was available as a multifunction pen since I use all three colors to review written reports AND in .05 which is the size I prefer to write with. Ordered several refills.

Loved the color of the barrel. Because these pens are by PILOT you can interchange refills and point size. Makes a great gift for people who love pens. Great for Bible Study, especially because of the different color ink. Wished they were a less in price.

Only the lower half of the pen is metal, upper part is plastic just like the full plastic version.

I bought this to go with my Vellee notebook. The pen writes very smoothly and the ink is bright and vibrant. Important as well, it wipes off the notebook cleanly using just a little water and the microfiber cloth.

Not sure about quality control, I received this pen and the ink is too old, it barely works even if I press hard enough to make a hole in the paper:(
