Worth it!!!
To me, it was worth its weight in Gold. It protected my tailbone when I fell during my first couple of ice skating sessions. Without BootyGuard, I may have incurred hundreds of dollars in hospital expenses.Would recommend this to anyone who is thinking of protecting their tailbone while Ice skating or other sport that may involve falling on the tailbone.

One Star
Too big and too rigid/hard. Returned.

Pain in the rear
I really wanted to like this. It's minimalistic and low profile compared to other coccyx guards. This is great, perhaps if you don't have a tailbone injury already. If you have one, all it does is create a prominent point that always gets hit first if you land on your bum. That only increases the impact on your tailbone. It also moves around a lot. Without a thigh strap or other anchoring strap, it just slides up whenever you do land. Pain in the rear (literally and figuratively) to adjust whenever you do fall.

Needs Leg Straps
Tried this snowboarding and it moved around too much. It is critical to stay in place, otherwise it isn't going to be effective. It needs leg straps along with the belt.

works pretty well for our kids who are learning snowboarding
works pretty well for our kids who are learning snowboarding, but tends to ride up, so its best to lace it through the belt loops (sides and front) to help keep it in place. really, they're probably a little small for them (6 and 9). seem pretty durable (both survived an entire season last year and still look like new). a little pricey for the materials, but does the job well and is still much cheaper than getting crash shorts (more comfortable too).kids sizes would be nice.

Fastens like a belt sits right at lower back(above belt line) ...
I purchased this for my girlfriend for snowboarding. She didn't have proper snowboard pants which are normally a bit baggy. She had a more fitted pant and with compression shorts the bootyguard was hardly noticeable and completely obselete with her jacket. She said that the bootyguard made a huge difference and absorbed a lot of her falls. Fastens like a belt sits right at lower back(above belt line) to tailbone area. So it covers good area She was in a great deal of pain toward the end of the day but she said she would not of made it that Long if it wasn't for this product. And as she progressed she fell less and less. She will use this like training wheels. Eventually she won't even need it ;) taking it one season at a time! Hope this helps
