Sram Cassettes PG970 9 Speed Cassette

I needed to replace the rear wheel on my Cannondale F4 and several people suggested that this was a good time to replace the cassette and wheel. The Sram part was better than the Shimano Tiara cassette that came with the bike. It fit right on and works fine. Good replacement for the entry level DIY bike mechanic.

I purchased this to replace the factory cassette on my Canondale Cyclocross bike. It was extremely easy to install, and so far after more than 700 miles has worked flawlessly. The chain rides on it smoothly, shifting is clean and easy, and as silly as it sounds, it looks sharp on my bike with the red accents.

SRAM, shimano...they all work well if the drivetrain is in good shape. Can't really go wrong with any high end cassette. The price was right this time so it's Sram for me. If you're changing cassette, your chain is probably worn too so replace that. If you still have issues with shifting, replace cable housing and align derailleur hanger.

Cheap replacement for a 1999 XT cassette I had. It's noticeably heavier, but shifting is just fine. Unfortunately I cannot shift to the top gear because my derailleur doesn't fit a 34T - which is my fault for not knowing more about the compatibility. Everything works crisply up to the eighth gear though. I cannot vouch for the life of this thing.

I'm getting ready for my first triathlon and needed a better set of wheels/tires. I purchased this cassette to go with a new wheel set for my '09 Specialized Tricoss bike, and it has worked out very well. Shifting is smooth and sure, much moreso than the Shimano LX cassette that came with the bike. I've ridden approx 200 miles on it so far and would recommend it to anyone looking for a good 26t high gear (road cycle compatible).My bike is a hybrid with 3 gears up front. The 26t climbing gear is not quite enough to keep a high cadence for the largest hills here in Seattle. I'm very happy with SRAM so far, so I'm getting a SRAM 32t cassette to replace this one.

Quality is poor. Rough edges. Obviously stamped out type of construction. Larger cigs flex badly. Teeth deforming after a hundred miles. I have a SRAM cassette from 2008 with 3,000 miles on it and it still looks new. Past return window so I’m stuck with it. I regret buying this.

This appears to be a good value cassette. It is well machined and shifts smoothly. I'm not sure how long it will last/wear, but I hope it will last like a shimmano XT grade cassette.

Nice product. Straight replacement for a 32-11 cassette which had been on the bike since new (12 years ago).Only comment is that it's a bit noisy going on to the 34t ring because the derailleur is a bit tight. Otherwise it works great and is a tenth of the price it was years ago.This is a cheap and effective replacement / upgrade to an older but still capable bike.My old PG970 cassette was still doing the job but I wanted an extra low gear so I could stay on the middle ring for longer. It delivered on the first ride and it's running sweet.
