How to Draw Birds: in simple steps

I was looking forward to receiving this book but when I reviewed it I wanted to return it. There is absolutely no script in this book to explain the steps taken to draw these birds. No conversation about the materials needed or the techniques used. All the book gives you is basic shapes and forms used in 5 steps to draw these magnificent creatures. That's it. How lazy.Addendum to review:Some of the reviewers have extolled the value of the author's simplicity in illustrating the drawing of birds. Simple is the key word but not in a good sense; Its simplicity is limited to childrens' attempt to sketch, probably those between the ages of 5 to 10. Adults should instead turn to a good book such as John Muir Law's "Laws Guide to Drawing Birds". Lastly,l $9.95 is not a fair price for How to Draw Birds in Simple Steps. But if you decide to purchase this book your children should be the intended target.

Simple book with adequate step-by-step drawings in teaching how to draw birds. I used the sparrow in my 1st and 2nd grade art classes. Not too hard for little ones. Recommended.

This was a great book it was a Christmas present we would definitely buy it again and actually we might because we seem to have miss placed it

One of the better art books around for younger readers. It gives detailed but simple instructions for drawing. Easy enough for my 8 year old to understand, but professional enough for her to get some pretty realistic drawings from it.

Gift for a 10 year old child, easy to decipher instructions make drawing quite easy. Step by step showing exactly how to get the right shapes etc

This how to draw book is the best iv'e bought as the step by step are great. Other books I have all have there own work in the book, more than teaching us to draw. I am now waiting for my next book to arrive. Thanks

Very good it gives you an idea of scale and once you have drawn something that looks so good with this book you will never look back ,great for all ages thank you

Bit disappointed with this book. No in depth teaching, just circles and oblongs which become bird pictures. Not really an adults book. Probably O.K. for young children.

This book is a good starting point on how to draw birds. It gives the basic shapes of a whole varieties of birds from which to start your drawing.
