It really works for our dogs !!
We've had the Turtle Alarm System for 9 years now and it's brought much in the way of peace of mind. Two of our three dogs may not be here were it not for this remarkable alarm. Yes, all dogs can swim but they don't necessarily know to look for stairs to climb out of which our deep end has none. They'll scratch and claw in one spot trying to pull themselves up until their strength gives out - a tragic event to be sure. The system goes off immediately upon sensing water on the dog's collar.Btw, as mentioned to another reviewer who was getting false alarms (too sensitive), the Turtle Alarm people make a small fabric sock type cover that fits over the neck sensing unit and helps keep incidental drops of water (such as dog saliva) from setting off the alarm. We had the same problem and this solved it.No, I don't work for Safety Turtle or have any financial interest in the manufacturer but just wanted to give well deserved credit to a first rate product that actually works.

don't buy from anyone but the company!!!
My turtle stopped working very quickly - when i called the company they told me to check the production date on the back of the turtle - they said the battery is only good for 4 years. I bought the turtle from amazon in september of 2012 ....only to now find that the production date was May 2009!!! Already 3 of the 4 years into its working life!!! But i bought it too long ago to return to amazon. A total rip off. Only buy from the company to make sure you get a recently produced turtle.

Wristband is lame
The key and lock system is worthless. I couldn't depend on that staying on his little wrist. Sometimes it locks well, other times it just feel off. It shouldn't be that difficult to get it to lock correctly. However, other than the locking system, the turtle did alarm when it got wet, so that's good, making it a two star instead of a one star.

Lock on bracelet breaks easily.
Bracelet broke first day. My 3 year old was able to pull apart and now the lock will no longer lock. Had to throw away. Extremely disappointed considering we did not get any use out of it.

Works as needed
Bought a Safety Turtle unit on Ebay that needed a new bracelet. This fit the bill. Be sure and order the same color bracelet as the color turtle unit that you have.

Fast ship and great product.
I have one of these of two of my dogs and they work great in case one of them falls int he pool.

Unfortunately I ordered the product in February but did not attempt to test it until MAY. I could not return it and it never worked. Frustrated and worried about the saftely of my grrandchldern
