Thank God that worked!
I live in a modular home. The hot water heater would blow out every time the wind blew from the south. Years of saying "gotta do something about that" so I did. This worked wonderful. Installed easy and We haven't had an issue even with 60 mph winds. Now to replace the others.

Good seller, minor packing error could be easily improved
Purchased from seller Express Fireplace & Hobby the 4-inch B-vent Cap, High Wind Cap (aluminum version, as recommended by my HVAC technician to replace the old corroding steel version); $34.04 total for item and shipping. Arrived quickly enough, though I was in no hurry, with minor dents from the item being packed up against the side of the box rather than being surrounded by the packing paper (which could be easily done with normal attention to packing care). The dents are minor and will not affect the performance, so I'm still happy with the purchase from this seller, Express Fireplace & Hobby. The mating tube of this part fit snugly to the OUTER diameter (rather than inside, like the old steel cap) of the vent pipe (pictured). Being thin aluminum, the cap is delicate, and to prevent bending and damage, careful gentle tapping is needed in order to intall it while ensuring it was evenly on axis as it was moved over the pipe until it snapped into the mating groove. Once the retainer tabs are in the groove on the pipe, though secure it became slightly loose. So I tapped it slightly further and may add a screw or three (though not required) in order to prevent any potential rattling noise.Note the labels in the attached pics, such as "WARNING INTERNET BUYERS". I checked the Duravent warranty and, as far as I can tell, caps would still be covered by their five-year limited warranty (considering annual maintenance, cleaning, and inspection by a 'certified technician').

wait and see
Liked the design. Will have to wait and see if it prevents wind from blowing out pilot light. Wish they would give dimensions on inlet pipe and not just height and width.

Have to have.
I purchased a gas fire place and the wind kept blowing it out. I couldn’t keep the pilot light lit. It will not blow out now with a strong wind. It works great. Gas fireplace places needs to sell these when they sell the product in a strong wind area.

Hot showers during cold blizzards
We installed it just in time for a big winter storm. For the first time in many years, the hot water heater pilot light did not go out during the high winds of these storms. Yay....we are enjoying the hot water during these winter storms! This device is remarkable and very cheap! We installed it ourselves on the recommendation of our plumber. Easy!

Fits but dinged up
Fits fine, but all bent up. It was packed in a sufficiently sized box with bubble wrap, so it must have been roughed up before it was shipped.

Just works....
This is an easy install, and really does prevent high winds from causing drafts that will blow out your pilot light. I painted mine with heat proof flat black to blend into my roofing, and added one self-tapping sheet metal screw to make certain that updrafts couldn't lift the cap off (although it fits tightly). Total of 30 minutes. Well worth the effort.
