RC Alloy Rear Shock Tower, Grey fits the Traxxas 1/10 Slash and Other Traxxas Models - Replaces Traxxas Part 3638

I've had this about 3 months. The tower itself holds up fine to heavy abuse and high speed crashes. The base plate has 2 screws holding it to the main tower, screws would not stay tight even with loctite applied properly (24hr cure time). Took it off to tighten up the screws 2 or 3 times and just wouldn't stay. Finally realized the problem. The transmission gets really warm which warms up the base of the tower, making the blue loctite far less useful. On top of that the shock tower gets tons of bumps and vibrations.Fixed it by drilling the base plate mounting holes out to 4mm, then putting 4mm screw in with locknut. Crazy enough, even the locknut will back off over time. Solved it permanently by adding red loctite to the locknut, hasn't moved at all in months.

Easy to install since the holes are all screw holes and no nuts are needed. Great look to the Traxxas Slash 2wd.

It’s a nice product fits nice and light, screw holes line up also more adjustability with more holes. Only problem was that the screw heads sheared off that hold the two pieces together after first run and about a fifth jump.

I like this shock tower over the strc tower it's stronger as this uses 3 long screws and it is channeled at the base for strength and a better fit but do note that it is wider than stander so rustler owners it maybe tight but will fit

decent part but one flaw is the 2 piece system connected by 3 small screws, lasted a day before all three screws snapped off at the heads. unfortunate because i liked this product because of it different hole options and rigidity but the screws completely ruined it, if only i had replacement screws that were stronger. overall 2 stars
