Deadlock Volume 1 (Yaoi Manga) (DEADLOCK GN) Paperback – Illustrated, July 12, 2022

Has a unique story plot and I really enjoyed this first book. Looking forward to reading the next books.

....I wasn't expecting much, but I was pleasantly surprised, in a good way since I managed to read the whole thing in one sitting, couldn't put it down. As the synopsis of the manga describes, the first volume spends a good chunk of it going through Yuuto's background [his family and life prior], some details about the crime he's been framed for and [especially] his trek through Schelger Prison while investigating for the FBI agent for a terrorist leader known as Corvus inside the prison in order to ultimately get out faster. Since the major focus of the story is the manhunt for Corvus, the prison environment, major players, factions and leaders are fleshed out. Some of the background stories though seem like something out of prison shows like "Prison Break" and a bit cliche at some point, but it works.As romance goes, there's a few pairings that are teased. You have the cover couple Yuuto and Dick. In volume one, very little develops in regards to that. Yuuto at some point does become self-conscious around Dick later on in the manga and you do find out that Dick has some interest in Yuuto. It's just Dick doesn't want to force himself on him, or implies it at least, more of the I want love in sex sort of character? Outside of the main couple you have probable pairs like Dick x Nathan, Mathew x Dick, Tonia x Yuuto and then you have all the other prisoners and their substitute partners. There's no sex at all or anything explicit in the first volume.The manga is very story and character driven which is a nice change, since I've read way too many bl/yaoi manga where it's often boy meets boy, boys have sex, boys fall in love, the end or they fall in love too quickly. For those looking for story and character development, I recommend picking it up.

I knocked it down a star because I having this feeling that Vol.2 will never come out, and it stopped at an awful cliffhanger. If by chance sales on this manga leads to DMP/June bringing over the novels of this series, I'd would love to purchase them.I personally loved how this wasn't an ordinary yaoi manga, in terms of the plot. While it's common to find 1-shot slice-of-life yaoi manga, but it's rare to come across ones that branch from the common (I'll make a small list below.), and then hope that maybe DMP or SubLime will license it. I would prefer SubLime to license it, as they do a much better job and are a better company.Why did I pick this up? Well, I read a description and ordered it right away once I read how it took place in a prison. It just sounded so much different from the everyday 1-shot slice-of-life, that I had to support it. Plus, the cover was really attractive, the cover helped me find this title. I personally loved the manga, but am also disappointed in it at the same time.Some Examples: Crimson Spell, Tyrant Falls in Love, Border, Finder, Blue Sheep Reverie, Yellow

The artwork in this manga is beautiful. This is the first book in a series, and I hope that there will be many more books after this one, so it is still an opening book to the story. It's about DEA agent Lenix who was sentenced to life in prison - possibly for a crime he didn't commit. He made a deal with the the FBI to do some investigating for them while in prison. Thus this is the beginning of the story.

Oi! Where is the second volume?! I've been waiting for years! This is a great story and it needs to be finished!

The shipping and packaging were excellent but I was very disappointed with the story. I was hoping for more of the story to develop but it's slow and the end of the book has a chapter or two hand written in the back. I don't think this series is continuing. It has more of the story and some of it is good but not for the amount they are asking for it.

HUGE yaoi /shounen ai fan, i found this series randomly on mangahere, and i just HAD the get the manga.

I just bought this book today, and omg it was awesome I recommend every yaoi lover to read it, and I really want to buy the next one soon. XD

I've looked forward to reading these for a while now and I'm very excited the paperback of the fourth volume is coming out soon! I liked the story, for a BL manga it really does have a solid plot and it's not too heavy on the romance if that's what you're looking for. A five out of five, would recommend 👍

Its good if you like that sort of thing. It's not for everyone. Seriously though, if you don't like gay stuff then don't get this book it's pretty much all gay stuff.It's a good thing I like gay stuff.

Yuuto Lenix est un agent de la DEA, emprisonné pour le meurtre de son coéquipier. Il ne cesse de clamer son innocence, et qu'il a été piégé. Après sa condamnation, un agent du FBI lui propose un deal : aller dans une prison de haute sécurité, et chercher le chef d'un réseau terroriste qui s'y cache. S'il réussit, sa peine sera réduite. Yuuto accepte, et est incarcéré dans cette prison très difficile.L'histoire pourrait paraître déjà lue et relue, surtout depuis UGH, de Mika Sadahiro. Mais je me suis laissée prendre, et j'ai avalé le livre d'une traite. De plus, les dessins sont fins, et très détaillés. Bref, le travail est très beau.Je n'ai qu'une hâte, c'est la sortie de la suite, parce-que le cliffhanger m'a laissé vraiment sur ma faim.Un conseil ? Achetez-le. Vous apprécierez. :)

I have nothing to say about the arrival time or the quality, other than it was on time and perfect condition.Aside from that, the story itself is amazing. If you're into hardcore yaoi with sex and smut everywhere, this isn't for you. Though it is categorized as yaoi, it's more of a shounen ai. It's plot is amazing and the drawings are perfect. I have nothing bad to say really.

The plot is very good and the art is one of the best one I have ever seen. It came very quickly. However, there is some tiny mistakes with the printing as some parts is a bit blur and there are several small marks in the book. Still, 5 stars for the content.
