Action packed suspenseful drama with lots of twists and turns!

I had that free credit on Amazon and thought it was a new movie with the two actors actresses and it is not and to pay for it. Had a not had the credit. I would be a little disappointed but it is a fabulous movie. It's definitely crime thriller type and it's very good

I saw this movie some twenty years ago and was feeling nostalgic so I wanted to watch it again. Definitely worth a watch.

Police-based crime drama starring Ashley Judd, Andy Garcia, and Samuel L. Jackson. Judd’s father was Jackson’s partner on the police department and when her father was killed in the line-of-duty, Jackson became her substitute dad. She lived with him, was supported by him, and was mentored by him before and after she joined the same police force. There is police drama, interesting plot, exceptional actors, and an unexpected ending. Totally worth renting or buying the video.

I'll watch anything Ashley Judd is in. She's one of those actors who consumes her roles and takes over the screen. I love her hair and makeup, I love her voice, I love how earnest her characters are. This movie is one of my comfort films. Judd plays the wife of a soldier who may or may not be guilty of participating in a massacre. (Jim Caviezel plays the husband.) Judd plays the tough-but-tender wife and lawyer who works to get him freed. Morgan Freeman is exceptional as her legal buddy and mentor. Michael Shannon in an early role where he steals the scene as a solder who knows what happened. It's a military courtroom legal thriller. And one of my comfort films. Highly recommend.

It's just ok. Judd gives a wooden performance but honestly, I feel that way about her performances in general. The actor who played the husband is also typically wooden, imho. The plot was decent although I figured out "the truth" soon after he was arrested. Pretty much a cookie-cutter there i.e. not very original. The best part was Morgan Freeman of course. He brings dignity and depth to the film.

Not sure how I seem to have missed this one! As a fan of Judd and Freeman this was a pleasant surprise. Both are on top form in a murder/thriller that hardly ever lets up in the action and plot development. Judd seeks to defend and free her husband (Caviesel) on trial for a war crime for which he is innocent. Freeman is the alcoholice millitary lawyer who helps her. This is areal old fashioned (2002) thriller where nothing is perhaps what it seems and our heroine is up against bullying big shot military at it's most devious. TWists and turns and good performences all round make this a well worthy watch. No swearing, the violence iis there but not too graphic (12 cert). I thoroughly enjoyed the film. A good transfer (bars top and bottom) good sound and subtitles with extras not seen by me. NOW This is where I get a bit naughty, but one thing about a very few Amazon reviewers is the desire to give full plot details including spoilers, and the ending without even yhe warning "Spoilers" before writing them. So... if you haven't seen the film avoid the review by...E.Gonzalez Sorry sir. No offence intended, but it is a bit thoughtless.

Muy buena pelicula

Erstklassiger Thriller, hochkarätig besetzt mit Ashley Judd und Morgan Freeman. Der Film lässt einen lange im Unklaren, lockt ständig auf die falsche Fährte. Immer wenn man glaubt das Spiel durchschaut zu haben, liegt man auch schon wieder falsch. Der Film spielt mit dem Zuschauer. Das Ende ebenso verblüffend weil so nicht erwartet. 100 % Weiterempfehlung !!! Lohnt auf jeden Fall.

Good story, and any film - movie with Morgan Freeman is usually interesting and believable. Cliff
