I did the happy dance as I threw the plastic one away
This replaced a 6 year old cracking plastic drain cover that was nasty, despite my attempts to keep it clean. When I measured it before ordering the new one, it was 4 1/2" wide, but I decided to take the risk because I was so ready to get rid of the old one.I am soooo glad I decided to replace it, and this metal drain cover is so much easier to keep clean! It doesn't have the thick 3-dimensional grid that dropped down below what you see on top that the plastic one had, which was the part that was always nasty. Plus the metal has a much nicer look than plastic that gave just a little touch of class to the shower floor, if that is possible! The only drawback I found is that this doesn't actually snap in place, despite what the title says. It stays in place thanks to gravity, but not due to snapping tabs or anything like that. For the most part, this is fine. However, it does shift around a little, maybe as much as 1/4 of an inch in any direction, probably due to that initial size difference. This is not a deal breaker for me, and it most certainly is not sliding all over the shower, but I felt the product description/title was misleading.

Value
We had the old cast iron/claw foot tub refinished - it looks brand new. New brass faucet/shower unit on order. This overflow drain replaced the old original one. Everything looks great.

A great grate, but be careful...
Used this one to replace a broken plastic grate in my shower, and it turned out to be very nice!I don't think that it is chrome-plated; I think it is just polished stainless steel, which is fine by me, as it won't scratch easily. (Unlike steel, chrome is a soft metal.)A small issue: These grates are made by stamping, with no additional tooling afterwards, so the edges on the bottom side are very sharp and have burrs. I used a needle file to get rid of the burrs, as those would inevitably catch hair and dirt over time. Thus, 1 star off.

Worked
It really didn’t snap in so I used a couple of dabs of silicone for easy removal if needed

Not a replacement for ABS drain covers
Nice sturdy cover, but I purchased for an ABS drain assembly and the tabs are not far enough apart to snap in place as designed.

Lasco 03-1357 3-1/4-Inch Drain Grate
The Lasco 03-1357 3-1/4-Inch Drain Grate is a round flat piece of chrome metal with four guide/snap prongs. The grate design consists of a 3 1/4 inch diameter round disk with 21 square holes. The four guide/snap prongs are inset from the disk edge approximately 3/16 of an inch and are approximately 1/4 inch tall with an outward dimple in the center of each. I have uploaded three pictures showing the design and dimensions of the grate. You will need to measure your drain carefully to ensure a good fit. Note that the prongs are extremely short with only a small inset from the edge of the grate. Although they will keep the grate from sliding out of the drain, they are too short to securely hold the grate in the drain.

User review of Lansco 03-1371 4-inch Drain Grate
The drain grate was a bit thinner than I expected. My expectations were based upon the thickness of the grate I was replacing. Overall, it fit the drain except the screws provided were larger than my existing screws, so I used the old ones. The two screw holes in the grate were a bit too large but not so large as to pull through when tightened.I would have been satisfied with the product and purchase had the product arrived by promised date. The shipping cost was way too high for a item this small and with a lengthy shipping window. The vendor offered to refund the shipping cost if I would consider revising my evaluation. I declined and advised the vendor that my opinion is not for sale. I recommended that on future orders that they should under promise and over deliver... then everyone will be happy.

It's a Snap
I had to adjust the four little prongs for a perfect fit. One pair of pliers and a couple of minutes did it all. The next morning, my wife (I didn't tell her) asked "Did you polish the drain in the shower?" I couldn't say yes, so I said, "Something like that."
