Breathtaking optics, shaky details
My wife got me a pair of Elites on my recent birthday, after I openly coveted hers for the past couple years. We're both birders who have owned excellent Bausch & Lomb binoculars in the past and recognize quality when we "see" it. The Elite outperforms any of them, hands-down. The image is so bright and clear, that it seems to surpass real-life. Maybe it does β I'm not a physicist. They're larger and heavier than our previous binocs, which we've both had over 30 years, but the image quality far outweighs this drawback. My wife's pair has had some issues with the focus knob. It came loose, but the owner of a local eyeglass repair shop fixed it in minutes β a loose screw under the knob cap, which is removable β for a nominal fee (enough for a 12-pack, I think, was the negotiated price!). She's also noticed that a couple other moving parts are a bit loosey-goosey. Shortcomings like these are probably why Bushnell can sell these at the price. The optics are sensational, but the plastic details are kind of disappointing. It hasn't been long enough to know if my brand-new Elites will suffer the same problems. Maybe they've been corrected. We'll see. (har-har) Meanwhile, they have elevated our birding experience to a new level and I can't wait to get them up to Lake Erie in the spring for the warbler migration and to Alaska next summer. To my wife: thank you!

The Elite is a far better built binocular built just like my Swarovski EL's out ...
I have Nikon Monarch 7 and Vortex Razor 10 X 42 glasses The Nikon And Vortex have a little bigger field of view. They are about even in low light conditions. The Bushnell out shines them in optical clarity. Their is noticeable difference in the clarity The Elite wins. TheElite is a far better built binocular built just like my Swarovski EL's out of Magnesium. When first designed back in 06 a pair of elites were $1300.00 They have recently added ED glass and more fully multi coatings tothem I use bionoculars everyday hunt for a living. The Busnell Elite is hands down the best value. $396.00 is steel on these

Amazing image quality!
These are wonderful binoculars! I was able to buy them "used" for a discount and I'm thrilled with them, especially for the price I paid. Even at the full asking price they would be well worth the cost. I compared these to several other binoculars in the price range; Vortex Viper hd 10x42 & 10x50, Nikon Monarch 7 10x42, and Zeiss Conquest 10x42. I feel that the Bushnell's are just as good if not better and they are a bit cheaper as listed here. You can't go wrong with them.Pros: Great image and optical clarityStrong constructionGreat fit and finishVery smooth focus knobCenter and locking diopter adjustmentCons: non locking eye cups

Diopter adjustment can't offset the focus between left and right eye.
I like the optical quality very much! But the diopter adjustment works so bad after months. 2 dots of the focus offset was OK for my right eye when I got it, but 8 months later, even I turn to the max minus value, the offset was still too large for two eyes getting into good focus identically. There's nothing wrong with my eyes, because I asked several guys with eyes corrected glasses to try my binoculars, they met the same problem. All of them turned the biopter adjustment to the max minus side (positive value is never needed), the eye focus offset was still noticeable.I didn't use the binoculars in any hard condition, I don't think this binuculars should be so weak in mechanical reliability.

Great value for the price
I became interested in bird watching about 10 years ago when I moved to south Florida. I owned a pair of so so binoculars at the time and quickly decided they were not up to the task. After purchasing two pairs of Nikon binoculars over the years I wanted something better. After reading the reviews on Amazon and elsewhere I thought these might do the job without breaking the bank. They are everything I hoped for and more, easy to handle, and incredibly sharp and clear. Tough to beat at the price!

fantastic balance of image quality and price
The Bushnell Elite 10x42s are the best full-size binoculars I have purchased. They are not, nor are they designed to be, the very top-of-the-line, but are nonetheless very good. During the first day or two of use, my forefinger repeatedly (and annoyingly) moved the diopter adjustment, which is immediately adjacent to the focus knob; now, however, that rarely occurs. The image is tack sharp across more than 95% of the field of view, and the only internal reflections occur irregularly. I would highly recommend these to anyone seeking a very good, yet not terribly expensive, pair of binoculars.

Goog glasses- very tough -though found them a bit heavy for the size.

Excellent value! I finally have binoculars that I can ...
Excellent value! I finally have binoculars that I can use without removing my glasses. The right eye adjustment is very accurate and images are sharp and bright. Eye relief is superb. The build quality is also very good - the binoculars are rugged and the strap is wide and comfortable. This is my first pair of Bushnells and I am very happy.

Good level of clarity even in relatively poor light conditions.
I am not an expert on binoculars but the Bushnell Elite seem light and images are very clear. Believe them to be good value for money.

Upgraded Elite.
An upgrade of the previous version the Elite E2 it retains most of the old features with the exception of no longer having the the focuser lock, a feature that really few people would use anyway. Still present is the centre mounted lockable diopter adjustment. The significant upgrade is now like a lot of other makes it sports ED glass for better control of Chromatic Aberations and brighter contrast and image, the case is still a solid clamshell, not quite as good as the older one and smaller, not enough room for the next strap which is too long however its very comfortable. Made in Japan the binocular is well made and all adjustments work smoothly, lots of eye relief for eyeglass users, the FOV is on the smaller side of things however the image is crisp and clear, another plus point is that the price has been reduced to make it more in line with the competition out there. Not the cheapest binocular but a made in Japan instrument tends to sell for more than its Chinese counterpart anyway. Well worth considering.

This product looks like a secondhand product, cause this package without plastic film,I very much doubt.

Great chasis, could have better glass.
Excellent build quality of the chasis (made in japan), the focus and locking diopter adjustment are top notch. I was disapointed with the optical quality away from the center of the image, it quickly gets blurry and distorted towards the edges, and has a lot of 'fisheye' effect when panning over an area.
