Engineering Design with SolidWorks 2015 and Video Instruction

I used this book as the text for an introductory SolidWorks course and found the exercises generally helpful for becoming familiar with the various tools and features of the SolidWorks software. However, the instructions are not user-friendly and seem to be written by an amateur, making the projects tedious frustrating to work on. Some issues I had were:- Figures are not numbered and are ambiguously referred to in the step-by-step instructions. I often had to hunt for the correct figure for whatever I was doing. Anyone who has done even the most basic technical writing should know better.- Figures are poorly labeled and ambiguous, forcing the reader to go back and forth between instructions and the figure (and all this without numbering)- Instructions are full of typos and use the wrong terminology to refer to what is shown in the figures. Again, this makes things much harder than they need to be.- The level of detail given by instructions is inconsistent. The instructions are usually given in a level of detail that is painful for anyone who is fluent with basic computer (or at least Windows) skills. This is tedious, but tolerable. However, the author will randomly decide to give concise instructions where it's least expected, which forces the reader to go back over previous steps.

Great training material for entry level to advanced. Contains a lot of useful information. Laid out very well with step by step instructions.

Just what my engineering son needed for his class.

Great step by step SW book. The videos are wonderful for the new user. Numerous exercises at the end of all chapters. Even a Simulation chapter
