Good replacement for a keyed lock on my large mailboz
I got tired of carrying or looking for my mailbox key, so bought this product. It was simple to install and works well. While the number are a bit small, they can be read. I used it on a large Architectural mailbox, similar to the Mail Boss. Should fit all similar ones.

Works great with locking mailbox!
I just installed this on my Gibraltar Wyngate Large Capacity Galvanized Steel White, Locking Post-Mount Mailbox, WM16KW01. At first I struggled with it because the CAM lengths were limited to 3/4" and 1 1/2" only. The 1 1/2" was way too long for what I needed and the 3/4" CAM was too short but because the longer CAM was adjustable, I installed the CAM at a 45 degree angle (instead of 90 degrees) which made it work very nicely. Instead of using the straight 1 1/2" CAM, I used the off set CAM to further reduce the door gap to about 1/4". I'll need to find something that will allow me to reduce this gap even further, perhaps gluing a piece of metal in between the locking mechanism and the mailbox latch. This cam lock appears to be well built. Although I do not feel it would prevent someone from prying my mailbox open, I do feel it may deter folks from reaching and grabbing the contents.

Good quality, didn't work for my application
I wanted to replace the lock on the outside shower door on my travel trailer but due to the large diameter of the knob, it won't fit in the recessed channel on the door. I compared this one to the larger 1-1/8" ones I bought and found it to be of the same quality and workmanship as those. To save you from trying to find my review of them, I've copied and pasted it here. I gave those a 4 star rating so I feel this smaller one should have the same rating for the same reasons.Review of the Combi-Cam 7850R-L Chrome Large 1-1/8" Combi-Cam Combinated Cam Lock:"I wanted to replace the common keyed locks on the baggage doors on my travel trailer with something a little more secure. These are just the ticket. No need to remember to grab the keys to open them. These are very easy to install and adjust. You can set them so the combination is vertical when locked or horizontal, depending on your preference. You can also change the rotation that they lock/unlock as well. The only down side is that the knob is tapered and if the door seal sticks at all, your fingers will slip off and you can open the door as easily. The finger tabs that were under the original locks won't fit under these as the diameter of the knob is too large to allow it. I am handy enough that I'll be able to fabricate some larger ones once I get some suitable material to make them. Someone else said the glare from the stainless finish makes it hard to see the numbers. We haven't encountered that issue yet, but we've only had them installed a month. If the glare on the knob becomes too much, perhaps a light touch with some 280 grit sandpaper will help."

Easy to install, easy to set code, might be difficult to see numbers is some locations.
I bought this to install in my Bestop 42640-01 HighRock 4x4 Under Seat Lock Box, on my Wrangler JK. I don't like keys and thought this would be the answer. Not in this instance. The lock installed perfect, work great, the code was easy to set. The problem for me, I can't see the numbers once the box is installed in the Jeep. I have glasses, bifocals, can't read the numbers, even if I use a flashlight just can't see them. There isn't enough room to get back far enough. I did try a magnify glass but there's just too much glare off the shiny metal with the flashlight, still couldn't see the numbers. Another problem on this particular box is it's next to impossible to pull the draw out once it's unlocked. There's nothing to hold on to, the lock itself is too slippery to hang on to. I could and would have put something on the drawer, handle or magnet, to allow me to open it. But since I just couldn't see the numbers I went back to the key. Just a heads up if you have trouble seeing close up might be a problem.

It works.
It fit my large toolbox and works great. Just wish the dials were a little bigger, they are little hard to see for an older guy.

Put on my storage cabinet
I have a small storage/gun cabinet that had a key. I don't like a keyed gun safe so I swapped it to this combination lock. Works great for what I wanted.

Reset pin stuck
The locking bar was too long but I was able to salvage one from my old key lock to get this installed... however, once installed I could not get the reset pin to release, so I couldn't set the combination to something other than 000 or even move the dials from those numbers. Very disappointing. Guess I'm sticking with the old tried-and-true key lock.

Knob is difficult
This fit right in and replaced the keyed unit in my gun safe. But it has a major problem, the way the knob is shaped, you can't pull the drawer open. I really don't know why they designed it this way, maybe to make tools slip off. I had to add a knob to the drawer to be able to pull it open. Also, the cylinders don't have very positive clicks, making it difficult to do the code by feel.

Very solid, easy to fit and use.
Tried a couple of cheap combination locks which were pretty useless, eventually found this one which has been great and feels very solid and well made.Measuring up carefully, the barrel of this lock (standard 19mm thickness, 5/8" length) was a perfect swap for the keyed lock that came with our mailbox. The lock came with a selection of arms but being standard size I could retain and swap across the arm from the old lock, so it fits and functions perfectly. The number wheels are a little small but still readable, and reasonably easy to turn. Best of all means not having to fetch the keys when you notice the post has arrived...

Improved mailbox security
Excellent way to secure your mail box. Highly recommended

Great idea
While I liked the idea of these, because everyone has the same pass keys, there is no handle to open the door with. They need a latch to be able to open pass.

Lock Replacement
Needed a replacement lock after breaking the key off on my gun cabinet. This is a direct replacement to the 12 gun yukon gear/stack on gun cabinet. Turning the lock will be a little stiff to turn due to the 2 bar locking mechanism being a little closer to the door. Using the wood spacer/washer is a must to bring the dial away from the recessed gun cabinet lock hole.
