Rock Tamers LED System

UPDATE: The lights kept getting water inside the electrical connectors and it eventually corroded to where the lights would flicker or just cut off. I contacted Rock Tamers and they are sending me another set. Their customer service was very friendly and helpful! They really stand behind their products!The lights work great and are insanely bright! One of the lights got water inside the connector and was flickering, but once I cleaned the connector and let it dry out it worked fine. My only major issue is with the wiring, which has 2 different length pigtails. It works just fine as long as your truck's trailer plug is on the driver's side. If it's on the passenger side, like on my 2012 Ram 2500, the shorter pigtail just barely reaches and puts a lot of strain on the connection to the light. I'm thinking maybe this is how water got inside the connector. Not a huge problem, but I just wish they had made the wires the same length!

They install easily and look great only complaint is a really stupid design decision. The wires to connect the leds to the truck are two different lengths... great if your truck has the connector on the left side of the license plate, but I have a Ram with the connector on the right, so the short end has to stretch to the farther away led. It barely reached, so I cut the wires and reversed them... a real pain in the you know what. Why did they not make the cord lengths the same longer length on both sides??? Oh right, cuz every truck has the connector on the same side...NOT. Really stupid...

Great product, although I won't be able to use them until I find an extension cord for the wiring. On a dually with the flaps extended out as far as possible, the coil wire for these led lights is just too short. If you do manage to connect them they feel like guitar strings. I rather they have a little slack. The problem now is finding the right extension cord, seems like the only options out there are 6 or 10 feet lengths. I only need 2ft extension. Really hope the Rock Tamer team can address this issue or else I'm going to have to get rid of my lights. Dually owners be warned.

Update 1/11/2021I put in a call to the company. Was called back by one of their senior sales folks. This is a company that stands behind its product. We worked out a solution for the lighting (any auto parts place has extensions). During the conversation, I mentioned that I'd moronically not inserted the pin to hold the mudflaps in place, resulting in my dropping them on the highway and suffering some road-rash on the chrome plate. They were gracious enough to send me a replacement at no charge for something that was entirely my mistake. Pretty damned awesome. Nice to find a company like that.Original Review - 1/4/2020I have a dually, requiring my mudflaps to be installed about as far to the outside as possible. However, the electrical connector to the truck includes wires that are way too short. My connector is on the passenger side of the truck. I could *maybe* stretch the cable to reach the passenger side light, though it would put a lot of strain on the truck's connection. No way I could stretch the driver's side. That makes this light system useless.12-28-20 - I put in a call to RockTamers. They are closed until 1-4-21. I'll update once I reach them

Arrived on time! Install was easy especially as I was installing the Rock Tamers at same time. One key to making them slide on is ensuring the nut has a flat parallel to the bar. If you have a point up it won’t slide on. Minor yes but makes install much easier. These really help people see my turn intentions when they are in between my trailer tail lights and my truck. There is a big dark spot when pulling 44ft 5th wheel. This really lit up when I was turning or trying to change lanes. Would recommend to anyone installing Rock Tamers.

Not as durable as I might have expected from rock tamer. Condensation in the LEDs and one of my connection prongs broke off the second time I used it. However, I can replace the plug fairly easily, I suppose I expected more. Fits perfectly on the rock tamers.

Tried to get the lights replaced with new ones, however seller wants the current lights returned with all original packaging, which i don't have, before sending new ones. It would be nice to get the new lights first, that way i can remove the defective ones and install the new at the same time, convenience!

Mud flaps worked great. The led light bars did not work at all and appeared to be defective. The harness assembly is too short on one side for a dually truck. Checked power and turn signals thru the harness with a meter and it checked ok, but when you plugged the light bars in I got nothing.

They installed easily on my mud flaps. The lights are very bright and are brighter than my truck tail lights on a 2012 Dodge 3500

Great product but you need a pig tail @ least 10 inches long to connect to your 4 pin connector that’s my only complaint

Why is the wire on one end shorter than the other? I have a Dodge Ram and the plug is on the right side, but the wire is designed for a plug on the left side. And now the wire is stretched to the max. Do you have extension for this?

These look amazing on truck with the Rock Tamers! Easy to install.

Lights are super bright but got condensation in them the first night but bright enough to shine through see how long they last
